Called Babu by friends and colleagues, he works from an office in south Delhi’s Zamrudpur . Siddhartha has also acted in Bollywood films making his debut with an award winning film, Madras Cafe . He has since also done cameo roles in Bombay Velvet and 2 south Indian films. Other than directing , he has also trained big Bollywood film stars and a number of hosts for television shows . He has edited , created and authored several books in the information and quiz domain, including a series of highly successful Class 1 – 8 books for school children with Encyclopaedia Britannica . Anita Kaul Basu has been a regular Jury member for the International Emmy Awards , the Indian Telly Awards and the premier advertising awards, the Abby’s . She has also been a stylist for various film and television stars who have hosted the Big Synergy shows, including Amitabh Bachchan , Shah Rukh Khan , Salman Khan , Rajeev Khandelwal and Soha Ali Khan . Anita continues to be involved in print publications. She Project - managed the Mastermind India book series and Quiz columns for various Indian newspapers. This genre began with quiz contests and now appears in various formats and subjects – most reality shows focus exclusively on mass entertainment. This study focuses on the evolution of Indian reality shows – how they have evolved new formats and addressed ever newer subjects to attract and retain the attention of different type of audiences. The study examines reality shows from different channels and identifies professionals whose talent first came to light via these shows. The methodology used in this study is content analysis of Indian Channel Reality shows.The mode is often used in most talent shows is “who want to be a millionaire” and with in “60 minutes and Dateline". This study guided by the framework of glocalization examines how Kaun Banega Crorepati was successfully localized for an Indian audience. The study includes interviews with the producers of the show and a textual analysis of 50 episodes of the show through four seasons, and identifies elements such as: references to cricket, Bollywood, Indian history and mythology or religion; presence of famous movie stars as hosts, focus on contestants’ stories, and preaching, and examines how each of these elements made the show uniquely Indian. The findings indicate that while references to cricket, Indian history, and mythology or religion were more prominent in the first three seasons, in the fourth season the show’s producers focused on contestant stories and preaching.
