(Hokkaido Airports) on the execution of a contract and utilization of project finance totaling JPY 365.1 billion (about USD 3.32 billion*) for a bundled concession deal of seven airports in Hokkaido. Hokkaido Airports was established on August 23, 2019 as a consortium of 17 companies based in Hokkaido and outside of Hokkaido. Its goal is to revitalize regional Hokkaido through integrated and flexible management of seven Hokkaido airports: New Chitose Airport, Wakkanai Airport, Kushiro Airport, Hakodate Airport, Asahikawa Airport, Obihiro Airport and Memanbetsu Airport. The Hokkaido Bundled Seven Airports Concession deal improves Hokkaido’s core transportation infrastructure and is the first domestic deal to feature comprehensive bundling, in which multiple airports will be operated under a unified structure. It is also one of the largest ever privatized concession deals in Japan. One round trip is operated per day*. Peach flight MM593 departs from Narita Airport (Aircraft No.: JA10VA ) This is the only direct LCC flight connecting the capital area and Memanbetsu. It also marks the first LCC service at Memanbetsu Airport. Peach’s domestic network has expanded to 31 routes in total with this launch, including 11 domestic routes to/from Narita Airport, and nine domestic routes to/from Hokkaido. February 13, 2020 Dai-ichi Life to Invest in Project Finance for the Hokkaido Bundled 7Airport Concession Project ―Contribute to Regional Economic Revitalization by Supplying Funds to the Biggest Domestic Airport Concession Project― The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Limited (the “Company”; President and Representative Director: Seiji Inagaki) is pleased to announce that it has invested JPY 4.1 billion in project finance for the largest domestic airport concession project1, which is being undertaken by Hokkaido Airports Co., Ltd.2 Dubbed the “Hokkaido Bundled 7Airport Concession Project,” the project will unify the operation of seven airports in Hokkaido (New Chitose Airport, Wakkanai Airport, Kushiro Airport, Hakodate Airport, Asahikawa Airport, Obihiro Airport, and Memanbetsu Airport), which have been operated by separate entities to date.
