No distinction is made based on the person’s (current) geographical living and/or working position (e.g. Japan, the United States or The Netherlands). When the source is in Japanese, the authors name is added in characters to the Works Cited List. Furthermore, when it comes to terms, titles, cities or short quotations, this thesis includes the pronunciation (italicised), the Japanese characters and (if needed) the translation. The pronunciation is transcribed following the Hepburn-system. This means that to indicate a long vowel, a-o-u receive a macron (¯) and e-i are followed by another ‘i’ when written as such in Japanese or also a macron when it is lengthened in katakana script.     BAB II GAMBARAN UMUM KOREA SELATAN DAN KOREA UTARA A. Terpecahnya Korea Selatan dan Korea Utara Tragedi dua Korea mulai ketika Perang Dunia II berakhir pada tahun 1945 karena Semenanjung Korea dibagi dua oleh Persatuan Bangsa-bangsa (PBB) yang dipimpin oleh Amerika Serikat (AS) dan Blok komunis yang dipimpin oleh Uni Soviet. Pembangunan Semenanjung Korea ini terjadi tanpa konsultasi dengan Perwakilan Korea dan bertentangan dengan kemauan rakyat Korea. Uni Soviet dan Republik Rakyat Cina (RRC) menanam komunisme dan memberikan berbagai senjata api kepada Korea Utara. Sedangkan AS dan negara-negara Barat mendukung Korea Selatan untuk mengembangkan demokrasi dan kapitalisme. Dengan demikian, Semenanjung Korea segera menjadi “show window”-nya Perang Dingin di Asia Timur selama setengah abad (Seung-Yoon dan Mas’oed, 2007: 114). Perang Saudara antar Korea (Korean War) dipecahkan oleh serangan mendadak pihak Korea Utara pada bulan Juni 1950. Pihak Korea Selatan yang sama sekali tidak menduga serangan itu, sehingga tidak ada pilihan kecuali mundur saja ke arah selatan. PBB segera mengirimkan pasukan sekutu terdiri dari 16 negara ke medan Perang Korea. Kali ini pasukan Korea Utara mundur ke arah utara. Pada waktu itu ratusan ribu pasukan RRC membantu pasukan Korea Utara. Akhirnya kedua belah pihak antara Korea Selatan-pasukan PBB dan Korea Utara- RRC mencapai persetujuan untuk genjatan senjata dan menandatangani perjanjian 32 pada tahun 1953. Perang ini tidak ada yang kalah dan tidak ada yang menang, hanya ada kesengsaraan dan korban. Selama tiga setengah tahun, Perang Saudara antar Korea mengakibatkan jutaan korban manusia dan menghancurkan segala prasarana di Semenanjung Korea. Sejak itu kedua Korea saling memusnahkan satu sama lain.

Purpose Thank you for participating in the 4th Support Our Kids Reunion and to your continuous cooperation and support to the Support Our Kids project. The Support Our Kids project is a 10-year project which aims to support the independence of children affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and nurture them into becoming future reconstruction leaders. With the cooperation and support of embassies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we provide overseas homestay program to make this happen. This year, we started a new homestay program in Australia and have now sent a total of 290 students abroad. With the cooperation of Tokyo Big Sight, we also held “STAND UP SUMMIT 2015” for students to discuss reconstruction. Returnees of our homestay program who started their own project, HABATAKI, are currently working on “Tohoku x Nepal Reconstruction Outreach Project” to support children affected by the Nepal Earthquake. I feel that these children are working their way to become the future reconstruction leaders of Tohoku. The Reunion event is held for participants to present their opinions on the current situation of Tohoku, experiences abroad, and the plans for their future. We also have friends, guardians and supporters of these children in attendance to the event. To those who will be presenting today, we hope you will tell us all about your experiences and to the listeners, kindly lend your ears and continue to support these children.

(Hokkaido Airports) on the execution of a contract and utilization of project finance totaling JPY 365.1 billion (about USD 3.32 billion*) for a bundled concession deal of seven airports in Hokkaido. Hokkaido Airports was established on August 23, 2019 as a consortium of 17 companies based in Hokkaido and outside of Hokkaido. Its goal is to revitalize regional Hokkaido through integrated and flexible management of seven Hokkaido airports: New Chitose Airport, Wakkanai Airport, Kushiro Airport, Hakodate Airport, Asahikawa Airport, Obihiro Airport and Memanbetsu Airport. The Hokkaido Bundled Seven Airports Concession deal improves Hokkaido’s core transportation infrastructure and is the first domestic deal to feature comprehensive bundling, in which multiple airports will be operated under a unified structure. It is also one of the largest ever privatized concession deals in Japan.
