Tập này là chung cuộc của một đề án do Trung Tâm Học Tập Phật Giáo Tây Tạng (TTHTPGTT) đề xuất vào năm 1992. Tập một đã được Nhà Xuất Bản Snow Lion xuất bản năm 2000 và tập ba năm 2002. Vị trí trung gian của tập này cho thấy nó là phần chính yếu của Đại Luận. Tập này bàn về tâm Bồ-đề (bodhicitta; byang chub kyi sems) và Bồ-tát hành, các bậc đại nhân mà động lực đằng sau các hành động của họ là tinh thần vị tha này. Ban Dịch Thuật Lamrim Chenmo đã theo cùng một thủ tục và hình thức đã dùng cho tập một và tập ba, ngoại trừ việc đưa vào các ghi chú về trích dẫn những tham khảo bằng tiếng Phạn và tham khảo (được xác định bằng chữ viết tắt D) danh mục Tohoku (Ui et al. 1934) theo văn bản có chú giải bằng tiếng Tây Tạng của Tsultrim Kelsang Khangkar. Bao giờ cũng vậy, tôi cảm kích những nỗ lực của các dịch giả và của các học giả người Tây Tạng được nhắc tới ở trên. Đặc biệt tôi muốn nói tới hai học giả người Tây Tạng. These ideas contradict conventional wisdom about the Dalai Lama who is widely revered as a near saint and personification of compassion. This chapter analyses the narratives and arguments presented on both sides of the Shugden controversy between 1996 and early 2016. Both supporters and detractors of the Dalai Lama's position recapitulated beliefs with heartfelt certainty. However empirical evidence supporting either positions is much more uncertain. This chapter argues that the polarized commitment seen in these disputes took the focus off unsettling political and existential questions and located knowledge in the certainty of personal experience.
