Climate change related aspects play a central and strategic role in the object and purpose of the Aachen Treaty, in particular as concerns the commitment of the Franco-German partnership to taking climate protection into account in all policies, their pledge to promote energy transition and, finally, their commitment to ensure prosperity and security through climate protection. CONTENT The Aachen Treaty commits the two countries to a wide-ranging cooperation and collaboration on various issues. On Europe, France and Germany will work together to finish the single market and the single currency and to move toward economic, social and fiscal convergence.
