Visa Requirement Valid Visa is necessary. The invitation letter from Department of Fisheries, Myanmar will be provided for the participants to process visa authorization at Myanmar Embassy in India and Bangladesh.
Arrival at the Yangon International Airport Upon arrival, liaison from Department of Fisheries Myanmar will meet the participants outside the arrival hall of the Yangon International Airport. They can easily be identified by placard of the BOBLME Logo. Participants are expected to arrive in Yangon International Airport by morning flight on 28th August. We have arranged to proceed to Nay Pyi Taw by Mini Bus to arrive at Myat Taw Win Hotel in Nay Pyi Daw by late afternoon. In case, some participants are arriving earlier than 28th August, we will arrange accommodation for them at DOF Guest House. Please do not worry, we will arrange for convenient of all participants and resources persons in Myanmar. Only to inform us flight schedule in time.
General Information about Nay Pyi Taw City
Nay Pyi Taw is the administrative capital of the Union of Myanmar. Centrally located, it is 391 km from Yangon and 302 km from Mandalay, being easily accessible from all parts of the Union. A new highway from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw has been opened recently and now the travelling time from Yang to Nay Pyi Taw is only about 4-5 hours drive. The environs of Nay Pyi Taw comprise (8) townships viz. Zeyar Thiri, Pohbba Thiri, Uttara Thiri, Zaby Thiri, Dekina Thiri, Pyinmana, Lewe and Tatkone Townships. Nay Pyi Taw Airport is about 30 minuts from Nay Pyi Taw. All domestic carriers (Air Bagan, Air Mandalay, Myanmar Airways and Yangon Airways)operate daily flights from Nay Pyi Taw to the commercial capital, Yangon, and the culture capital Mandalay. There are flights via Nay Pyi Taw to tourist destinations such as Bagan, Heho, Sittwe, Myitkyina, Kyaing Tong and others. Interesting Places The City Hall (Nay Pyi Taw) : City hall is one of the prominent Land Marks of Nay Pyi Taw, in which Nay Pyi Taw Developemnt Committee establishes its headquarters which indertakens tasks for development of Nay Pyi Taw. State occasions are held with the accompaniment of the tune of National Anthem played by State Orchestra in Nay Pyi Tae City Hall. That indicates Nay Pyi Taw, administrative City of the Union of Myanmar. Weather and Time zone The weather in Nay Pyi Taw is warm and dry. Average temperature is in the range of 28-33 degrees Celsius. Light tropical clothing will be appropriate. Myanmar is + 06:30 ahead of GMT. Foreign Exchange Exchange facilities (only for Euro, US$ &Singapore $) are available at Yangon Airport. Credit cards using is not valid in Myanmar.. Exchange rate is around 870 Kyats for 1USD.
