ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH BRIAN CLARHAUT FOURTH YEAR • SAINT PETERS COLLEGE ‘06 Brian Clarhaut begins his fourth year with the Temple men’s soccer team as David MacWilliams’ top assistant in 2014.

In 2013, Clarhaut helped steer the Owls into their first inaugural season in the american athletic Conference. The Owls finished in 4th place overall with a total record of 10-4-4 and conference record of 3-1-4. Clarhaut was instrumental in bringing back-to-back top 20 recruiting classes in 2013 and 2014.

In his first season at Temple, he helped mentor the squad to nine shutouts, a 10-6-2 overall mark and to an atlantic 10 Tournament appearance.

Prior to arriving to assist the Owls, Clarhaut spent the 2011 season as the Director of Soccer Quality Control at the University of Connecticut, where he helped lead the Huskies to the BIG eaST Championship Game and to the NCaa Quarterfinals with a 19-3-3 record in 2011.

Before UConn and Temple, Clarhaut spent the 2009 and 2010 campaigns alongside associate head coach Tim O'- Donohue at Stevens Institute of Technology. During his two seasons at Stevens, Clarhaut helped lead four players to NSCaa first Team all-america honors.

Overall Clarhaut has coached a total of 10 players drafted into , 11 all-americans and 7 Confer- ence Players of the year.

a former Division I player at St. Peter's College from 2004-06, he was a member of the all-Metro atlantic athletic Con- ference (MaaC) academic team. Clarhaut was a member of the 23-0-1 Shawnee High School squad that won the 2003 state title and finished as the second-ranked team in the nation according to the National Soccer Coaches associa- tion of america (NSCaa). as a member of Bishop eustace Prep from 2000-2002, he set the single season assists record in 2002 with 27, was an all-conference performer (2002) and an all-New Jersey Top-11 Player (2002).

ASSISTANT COACH EVAN PRYBUTOK FIFTH YEAR • MASSACHUSETTS ‘08 evan Prybutok is in his fifth season as an assistant coach for Temple University.

Prybutok, a nationally licensed coach with his USSf B License, assists with all aspects of the program including coaching, recruiting, scouting and working with the goalkeepers. He also earned his master’s in education from Temple. He helped goalkeeper Dan Scheck to become of the best ever goalies in Temple history, finishing third in career goals allowed av- erage (1.03), ninth in career saves (198) and fourth in career wins (14).

In addition to coaching at Temple, Prybutok works with nationally recognized Players Development academy Soccer Club in New Jersey.

Before arriving at Temple, Prybutok served as the head men's soccer coach at Otero Junior College (an NJCaa Division I program) in La Junta, Colo., where he was credited for starting a brand new soccer program from the ground up in 2010-2011.

During the inaugural 2010 season, Prybutok guided Otero to NJCaa Region IX regular season and postseason tournament titles, while also winning the NJCaa West District Championship and advancing to the NJCaa Di- vision 1 National Championships as one of the final eight teams in the country in Tyler, Texas.

Otero finished the season ranked seventh in the nation with a 16-3-2 record and became the first-ever in- agural NJCaa soccer program to advance to the National Championships. Otero had one player named to the all-american Team, and 11 all-Region IX selections. Prybutok was named 2010 NJCaa West District Coach of the year.

Before his time at Otero, he was a volunteer assistant coach at Rutgers University in 2009 and was a coach for the Olympic Development Coaching staff in 2009 as well.

Prybutok played his collegiate soccer at the University of Massachusetts and graduated in 2008 with a bach- elor’s of science in management. His hometown is Mt. Liu came to Temple after having an accomplished ca- reer at UConn and UaB.

as a sophomore at UaB, he led the team with six assists as the starting left back. During two years at UConn, he was part of a defense that set a school record with 16 shutouts in 2011 and 12 in 2012. UConn went to two NCaa quar- terfinals and were ranked No. 1 during both seasons. In 2012, Liu played every minute in Big east play on route to a conference regular season championship. He contributed two goals and two assists that year that included the winning as- sist against No. 3 Georgetown and winning goal against No. 8 Notre Dame.

Liu played club soccer with Surrey United and was part of Vancouver Whitecaps youth system.

Liu has experience with Connecticut Olympic Development Program and currently coaches at Mont- gomery United Soccer Club.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH SAM WHITNEY THIRD YEAR • TEMPLE ‘08 Sam Whitney, a 2008 graduate of Temple University, joined the Temple Athletics staff as an Assistant Strength & Condition- ing Coach in August of 2012. Whitney works primarily with the Olympic sports, designing and implementing strength and con- ditioning programs for those teams.

Before arriving at Temple, Whitney spent two years as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University where he was responsible for 14 NCAA Division III teams. Prior to holding that position, Whitney spent two years as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Villanova where he worked with the 2009 FCS National Championship Football team as well as the 2009 Final Four team.

Whitney earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Temple in May, 2008, and will be working toward a master's degree at Temple as well. He holds certifications from the National Strength & Conditioning Association, the American Heart Asso- ciation and USA Weightlifting.

ACADEMIC ADVISOR SARA PERGINE SECOND YEAR • IOWA ‘11 Sarah Pergine, from Collegeville, Pa., joined the Resnick Center as an Academic Advisor after working in the office for a year as a graduate extern. At the time, Sarah was earning her master's in Educational Leadership in Higher Education at Temple while also volunteering as a coach for the Owl's field hockey team in the 2011 season. Sarah earned her bachelor's degree in communication studies and sociology from the University of Iowa in 2011. While there, she started in 53 career games and was a member of the 2010 Midwest High Performance Tournament Team at the USA National Championships. She was also named the ISAAC (Iowa Student Athlete Advisory Committee) Chair for 2010.
