Saturday, February 29, 2020 Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown THE AMERICAN ADVERTISING AWARDS NEW MEXICO Saturday, February 29, 2020 Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown American Advertising Federation New Mexico | American Advertising Awards 2020 | View winners on YOUTUBE: AAFNM 2020 ADDYS 1 GRACIOUS THANK YOU TO 2600 Louisiana Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87110 PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE The American Advertising Awards committee is always challenged with developing a theme for the show. There’s a few that almost all clubs have run through – a specific decade, masquerade, circus,Mad Men, The Wizard of Oz, etc. This year’s committee got double dipped. How do you pick an amazing theme while honoring the past, celebrating the club’s 60th anniversary? Inspired by the year 2020, this year’s theme centers around hindsight. See what we did there? The adage that hindsight is 2020 may be cliché, but it’s true. We’re gathered here tonight because we have consistently learned from and have been inspired by those that came before us. Our former leaders had a vision for this club, this community, this industry that have led us this far. We continually learn from great leaders, tremendous local agencies, brilliant marketing minds and clever creative innovators. AAF New Mexico thrives by connecting the past to the future with programs that honor past Silver Medal winners, professionals currently in the field and students just starting their journey. We’re thrilled to recognize the achievement of our collective history while we celebrate another great year of outstanding creative work. May the individuals and work showcased here tonight be celebrated in another 60 years! Cheers, Elizabeth Also, a special thank you to our sponsors. SYNOPSIS Based on a true story: DANGER CLOSE begins with Major Harry Smith [Travis Fimmel], the strict and highly motivated commander of Delta Company, 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, on operation in Nui Dat, Phuoc Tuy Province, Vietnam. Delta Company is made up four platoons; 10, 11 and 12 platoons and a Company HQ, a total of 108 men. Harry is a career officer and he has no time to ‘coddle’ or befriend the men in his company. He feels that ‘babysitting’ these young men - half of which are conscripts - is beneath his special forces skills and previous combat experience. But with a point to prove, Harry is keen to show what his men, and importantly, he can do to make the best of a harrowing situation.

Revenue is also the most important and intuitionistic feedback to producers, directors and actors. Therefore it is worth for us to put effort on analyzing what factors correlate to revenue, so that producers, directors and actors know how to get higher revenue on next movie by focusing on most correlated factors. Our project focuses on anaylzing all kinds of factors that correlated to revenue, for example, genres, elements in the movie, popularity, release month, runtime, vote average, vote count on website and cast etc. After analysis, we can clearly know what are the crucial factors to a movie's revenue and our analysis can be used as a guide for people shooting movies who want to earn higher renveue for their next movie. They can focus on those most correlated factors, for example, shooting specific genre and hire some actors who have higher average revenue. Inside Story insidestory.org.au /on-the-couch/ 27/07/2009 1007 words Books & Arts On the couch Ellie Rennie 27 July 2009 Ellie Rennie reviews In Treatment series one: therapy from start to finish Gabriel Byrne and Melissa George in In Treatment In Treatment Series 1 | Warner | $89.95 AFTER watching In Treatment I’ve concluded that one of the unhealthiest relationships of all is the one between screenwriter and audience. Screenwriters persuade us to adore characters we should hate and make us see ourselves in the most demented scenarios. By season three of The Sopranos I had developed an unforgivable crush on Tony Soprano – murdering, cheating bully that he is – not to mention an insatiable appetite for cannoli. I single out Tony because his complexity and my empathy were achieved through psychoanalysis. What better way to build characters and then brutally rip them apart than by sticking them in therapy? HBO’s most recent gem, In Treatment, is The Sopranos without the mafia and the long title sequence. The series takes place almost entirely inside a psychologist’s home office, each short episode (twenty-five minutes) being one therapy session from start to finish. As in The Sopranos, the shrink in In Treatment is dealing with his own problems: a troubled marriage, uncertain patient–therapist boundaries and a crippling tendency to analyse, rather than relate to, the people he loves. Gabriel Byrne’s performance as Dr Paul Weston is so honest and complex that it leaves you stripped of pretences, attuned to insecurities and reeling at the pitfalls of the human condition.
