Mohammed bin Faris, one of the most authoritative Arab musicians of the 20th century, has inspired Fmany to take up music as more than just a hobby. Mohammed bin Faris has mastered the Sut music which is said to be the blue genre of music and it was traditionally inspired from places like Africa, India and Persia. As a memorial to the significant contribution of Bin Faris, the Shaikh Ebrahim Centre of As Cold As Brutal Culture and Research has initiated bringing back the legacy of the music as it was originally loved and cherished. Having laid the stone of inception on 12 September, 2005 Mohammed bin Faris Sut Music house is a reconstruction of Mohammed bin Faris’ house at site of the original building and had made into a small museum commemorating his life and career. It houses his instruments, his 78-rpm discs and other recordings.
