P R O C E S S F O R STUDENTS WHO ARE SELF-ISOLATING

If you've travelled to the UK from: Hubei province in China; Iran; , Castiglione d’Adda, , , Maleo, , , , and in or Vo’ Euganeo in Veneto, ; Daegu or Cheongdo in south Korea in the last 14 days, even if you do not have symptoms Other parts of mainland China, northern Italy (anywhere north of Pisa, Florence and Rimini) or South Korea, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Japan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam in the last 14 days and have a cough, high temperature or shortness of breath (even if your symptoms are mild)

Stay Indoors

You should remain in your home. Don't go to work, LSE, or public areas and do not use public transport or taxis until you have been told by the NHS that it is safe. Don't have visitors. Order home delivery for groceries, other shopping, or medications. Ask for help if you need it.

Notify NHS

Call 111 to let them know your symptoms and recent travel. Follow all of their advice. Don't attend medical facilities unless instructed.

Inform LSE

Email [email protected] and your academic mentor so that we know you are self-isolating. Reply to our emails and keep us updated on your progress.

Evaluate and decide

A member of the Residential Life team will be in touch before the end of your 14 day period to ask for an update. Don't end your self-isolation until you are instructed to do so by the NHS. Update Residential Life of any changes to your health or the instructions you have received.

NHS 111 may ask students to self-isolate if they've: Recently returned from a designated area of high risk, regardless of symptoms Recently returned from a designated area of risk AND they have related symptoms Been in contact with someone who has recently returned AND they have related symptoms Been in contact with someone who has coronavirus

Make sure Residential Life knows

All students are being asked to email [email protected]. If you receive notification from a student that does not copy in that address, please immediately notify [email protected] and include Coronavirus in the subject line.

Help students access online course materials

Please ensure that your students have as much access as possible to online course materials. Contact the Eden Centre for assistance with this, if necessary.

Let teachers know not to expect them in

Notify any lecturers that would be expecting the student that they won't be in for the 14 day period.

Check-in with students

Please touch base with the student once over the period to check-in and offer support. The Residential Life team will be in touch before the end of a student's 14 day period to ask for an update. Students should not end their self-isolation until they are instructed to do so by the NHS. Residential Life will write to the DM at this point.
