They are now ranked among the top 6 teams in Ulster. Congratulations boys! Lucy McClure P.3 Gemma Strain & Zara McGurk .P7 These girls won a whole range of awards for dancing last weekend. This Sunday 24th April a group of our P.3 and P.4 children will be participating in the morning service in Movilla Abbey Methodist Church. The children will be using the theme of ‘God’s Creation’ to sing, dance and talk to everyone there. The service is at 12.00pm and everyone is very welcome. We know the children would appreciate your support. WEDNESDAY, 27th APRIL – P1 LETTERS POSTED OUT Girls Hockey On Thursday 28th April some of the P6 and P7 hockey girls will be going to Londonderry Park to play some friendly matches against Newtownards Model. There will be no school hockey that day. Wednesday 27th April 7pm Entrance by ticket only - for P.7 parents We have been busy gathering examples of our children’s wonderful work, especially their creative writing, for a special spread in Newtownards Chronicle! This will hopefully be published on Thursday 5th May. Friday 6th May. We will all be wearing wigs to raise money for CLIC Sargent. Details have been sent home. I am a relatively new resident to County Down, and haven’t yet taken the time to explore the place I now call home. From Movilla Abbey to Struell Wells and on to Newry Cathedral, I would imagine that most people struggle to find, or take the time, to look beyond the name and facade of many of the buildings we pass by each day, and truly appreciate the interesting and sometimes even majestic stories and legends attached to these places. The gentle relaxed nature of this introduction, feels like the reader is being taken by the hand and shown a series of little treasures which have been discovered. My personal favourite in the guide, is legend of “Vallis Angelorum” – the Valley of the Angels, in which a holy place was built called Benchor, which is now our present day Bangor.
