Fri Sat Sun Ebbsfleet Public Realm Strategy Update Update on progress. • Public engagement - June 2019 • Strategy adopted by EDC Board in September. • Strategy supported by Dartford Borough Council. • Strategy presented to Gravesham Strategic Environment Committee in November for endorsement. • Strategy issued to KCC for endorsement- expected to be endorsed through delegated powers. How are we using it ? 1. Development Briefs • EDC developing a number of development briefs for major development areas in and around central area. E.g. Ebbsfleet Central, Grove Road • Hard landscape and planting spec incorporated into the specs 2. Pre-app discussions • Issue the PRS at the initial pre- app meeting • Use the benchmark street designs, the hard landscape spec and planting spec in pre-apps to establish a clear requirement. • Ensure application drawings include streetlights, lighting cones and visibility splays to avoid removal of trees post granting of permission. 3. Application design evaluation • Undertake quantitive assessment of each street and benchmark within all applications, evaluating against relevant street layout from section 4. • Shared with the case planning officer, to consider as part of report.
