EDMUNDS G Crown© All rights reserved Suffolk County Council Licence No. 100023395 3 Where to buy the best of the Brecks The purpose of this leaflet is to encourage visitors, residents and businesses to buy local food, drink, arts and crafts. We want you to enjoy and celebrate the unique range of products the Brecks has to offer. Included in this leaflet are places to buy and eat locally farmed and harvested crops, varying from asparagus to apples and blueberries, as well as fine organic meat, fish, poultry and cheese. There are also locally produced apple juices, wines and ales. The Brecks has also inspired many award winning artists to create a variety of arts and crafts from a selection of materials ranging from ceramics to wood sculpture. Arts and crafts are a part of our natural resources, as they interpret the landscape and environment whilst also utilising the natural materials available. Buying locally boosts the economy of businesses and communities; the produce travels less thus reducing pollution; meaning the product is fresher for you, and you can often speak to the producer directly which ensures you get a better service. We hope you will share in our enthusiasm for the Brecks and delight in its distinctiveness through buying local products. To enjoy the best of Brecks produce you can contact a producer from the list or visit one of the websites listed in this booklet for further information. Details of seasonal produce and how buying local produce can benefit you and the community can be found online at www.brecks.org and www.keystonetrust.org.uk Eleven tourism businesses in the Brecks have achieved the Green Tourism Business Scheme Award (ranging from Gold to Bronze), they have been assessed on their environmentally sustainable practices, an element of which is their use local of produce. • Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office
Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office This list summarises the Norfolk Record Office’s (NRO’s) holdings of parish (Church of England) registers and of transcripts and other copies of them. Parish Registers The NRO holds registers of baptisms, marriages, burials and banns of marriage for most parishes in the Diocese of Norwich (including Suffolk parishes in and near Lowestoft in the deanery of Lothingland) and part of the Diocese of Ely in south-west Norfolk (parishes in the deanery of Fincham and Feltwell). Some Norfolk parish records remain in the churches, especially more recent registers, which may be still in use. In the extreme west of the county, records for parishes in the deanery of Wisbech Lynn Marshland are deposited in the Wisbech and Fenland Museum, whilst Welney parish records are at the Cambridgeshire Record Office. The covering dates of registers in the following list do not conceal any gaps of more than ten years; for the populous urban parishes (such as Great Yarmouth) smaller gaps are indicated. Whenever microfiche or microfilm copies are available they must be used in place of the original registers, some of which are unfit for production. A few parish registers have been digitally photographed and the images are available on computers in the NRO's searchroom. The digital images were produced as a result of partnership projects with other groups and organizations, so we are not able to supply copies of whole registers (either as hard copies or on CD or in any other digital format), although in most cases we have permission to provide printout copies of individual entries.

  • Sacred Tieart Cfmrcfi
Sacred tieart Cfmrcfi 1985 1985 is bound to go down as the year of anniversaries for the diocese of East Anglia, as you know I have celebrated the fortieth of my priesthood, and now you are celebrating sixty years of the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Margaret Mary. Anniversaries make us look back on the years that have gone by, hopefully with much gratitude. Yes, together we give thanks for the sixty years of the presence of your church. Its presence is a sign of the love and forgiveness of God. Cardinal Hume once said to a group of young people that whenever they saw a church, they were to see it as a symbol that God wanted them. He is so right! God wants you and me to be, in the world today, witnesses of his love, bearers of his forgiveness and truth. Whenever you come to the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Margaret Mary, to celebrate the Sacraments of Christ's love, remember that what you receive you are called to share. May the Church in Dereham continue to blossom and grow in the service of Christ. Yours devotedly, +Alan C. Clark Bishop of East Anglia The first record of Catholics in East Dereham is in 1834, although undoubtedly there would have been Catholics in the area before that year; three were recorded at Gressenhall and five in East Dereham. One of these, a Mrs. Skerritt is recorded in "The Norfolk Diary1, written by Rev. Benjamin Armstrong, as having borrowed a book from him.

The budget has been prepared in accordance with the Medium Term Financial Strategy 2020 to 2024 which was approved by Council on 27th February 2020. Councils have to approve their planned expenditure budget on an annual basis although many objectives are achieved across a longer term time frame. The Medium Term Financial Plan sets out the longer term strategic framework within which the budget for 2020/21 is set.
