***Amateur Owner Handler & Novice Class NOT OFFERED***

NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES *VETERAN DOG, 7 years & older *VETERAN BITCH, 7 years & older The winners of these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed. Any veterans defeated in these classes may not compete for Best of Breed, even if entered in the class.

*Chapter 11, Sect 8 of the “Rules Applying to Dog Shows” provides that “Neutered dogs and spayed bitches would be allowed to compete in Veterans Classes only at independent specialties and/or those all-breed shows which do not offer any competitive classes beyond Best of Breed.”

BEST OF BREED COMPETITION The following categories of dogs may be entered in this competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs, which according to their owners' records, have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed Competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.

AWARD OF MERIT The Club offers an Award of Merit to deserving dogs & bitches for recognition of their quality. It is entirely at the judge’s decision whether to give all or none of the available Awards. Award of Merits are selected from the dogs & bitches in the Best of Breed Competition, other than the Best of Breed and Best of Opposite winner. The number of Awards is determined to be up to 10% of the dogs and bitches competing for Best of Breed, including winners of the non-regular classes.

BEST PUPPY Any entry in the puppy classes that is awarded Best of Breed or Best of Winners would automatically be awarded Best Puppy. Only dogs not defeated in a puppy class are eligible for Best Puppy Competition.

NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES *STUD DOG CLASS - For dogs that have sired two dogs or bitches entered in this show. The award will be based on the merits of the get. The owner of the stud dog need not be the owner of the get. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the regular classes, or if a Champion of Record, in Best of Breed Competition, but MUST be entered in the Stud Dog Class. The Stud Dog must appear in the ring with his get. *BROOD BITCH CLASS – Same as the Stud Dog Class, substitute “Brood Bitch” for “Stud Dog” and “Produce” for “Get.” NOTE: As the judge’s decision in the Non-Regular Classes involving Multiple Dog Entries is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes. *Chapter 11, Section 8 of the “Rules Applying to Dog Shows” provides that “a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.”
