St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara Minor Seminary; the hope and future of our diocese started its new academic year on 5th June 2018. Earlier on 27th May all the Seminarians reached back to the seminary after their summer vacation. On 1st June all our Benjamins, first year minor seminarians reached by around 4 p.m and we conducted one session for all the parents and also for the first years. Rev. Dr. Jacob Nangelimalil gave an introductory talk to all about the Vocation and also about the seminary life. On 5th June, in the inaugural ceremony of the new academic year, seminary choir created a spiritual ambiance by singing prayer song. Rev. Fr. Vice Rector welcomed the esteemed guests to the seminary family. Rev. Fr. John Anikottil, Forane Vicar of the Kaliyaar Parish inaugurated the new academic year with a profound message. He exhorted the need of reflective education in this contemporary time especially for the integral growth of the future priests. Rev. Fr. John lightened the lamp and all seminarians received lightened candles from him. All seminarians prayed ardently to the Holy Spirit for wisdom by lifting up the lightened lamp. Rev. Fr. Rector gave the Presidential address and Rev. Fr. Mathew Puthenkulam, Asstt. Vicar of Vannappuram parish also addressed the community and gave positive vibes to all the seminarians. Bro. Mathruvedhi unit of the Diocese of Faridabad-Delhi initiates a new project with an aim to raise an education fund for the poor children in our diocese. The new donation coupon scheme project was inaugurated by His Grace Archbishop Kuriakose Bharanikulangara on the occasion of the Annual day celebrations of diocesan Mathruvedhi. On May 12 we had Akhanda Japamala Jasola with Eucharistic adoration from 7 am to 5.30 pm Parish feast led by Jesus Youth members of the parish followed by Holy Mass, Novena, Ladeenj and Evening Vigil led by Rev. Fr. Romal RCJ. On May 13 we had the solemn Eucharistic celebration on the final day of the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. Rev. Fr. Mathew Kizhakechira offered the Perunal Qurbana which was followed by a solemn festal procession. These days were a real time of God’s abundant blessings on the entire parish. The Feast of Our Lady of Fatima was celebrated solemnly at our Lady of Fatima Forane Church, Jasola from May 4, 2018 to May 13, 2018. The Liturgical celebrations were consisted of solemn Rosary, Adoration, Holy Mass, Novena and Ladeenj. Nercha was distributed at the end of liturgical celebrations on each day. Many parishioners and others as well participated in the liturgical celebrations on all these days. Family units and pious associations were assigned each day to lead the celebrations.
