ST LUCIA SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT FUND (SSDF) BASIC NEEDS TRUST FUND (BNTF) – 5th Programme Invitation for Pre-Qualification of Contractors

he Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the Government of St Lucia have 'Signed an agreement for a Fifth BNTF Programme to provide funding for Tinter alia, construction of a number of specified sub-projects. The CDB has recently concurred with the Government of St Lucia that each of the sub-project should be within the limits ofUS$35,000 and under or limited to US$500,000. The BNTF will undertake to pre- qualify contractors or community organisations for such sub-projects within the named sub-project locality so as to attract the widest participation in this process; it is also intended to encourage small to medium contractors and community organisations throughout the specific locality to provide timely information on their organisational capacity to undertake such projects and to afford such contractors greater opportunity to participate in the economic and social development of their communities. Pre-qualification is therefore open to all interested contractors and community organisations preferably within six miles of the sub-project site and will require the collection, completion and submission of the relevant Pre- qualification Document to provide information on the technical competence of each contractor or community organisation, the construction experience and experience of their support staff, similar contracts performed over the last five years and their value, equipment owned or available for rent, availability of line credit and disclosure of evidence to a financial institution. ONLY recommended contractors, upon satisfactory evaluation of the information provided, will be subsequently invited to bid on the sub-project(s) during the next six months.
