His trainer, Alberto says Monster has a quiet, gentle nature. Principals’ Conference Bathurst will be hosting the NSW Secondary Principals’ Council’s 2014 Annual Conference from 10-12 June. Approximately 300 principals from public schools with secondary enrolments throughout the state will participate as delegates at this event, which is the most significant professional learning event on the calendar for our professional association. I would like to acknowledge the work of principals throughout the west and central west, including Mr Peasley and Mr Hastings, who have contributed to the organisation of this major event. CSU are a major partner for this year’s conference and will be hosting the various keynote presentations and workshops for the three days of the conference. Craig Petersen College Principal Report from HT Welfare “who let the dogs out?” The twelve students who are attending the Companion Dogs Program at Kelso High Campus are having a great time with the Corrective Services inmates and their canine friends. The “Dogs for Diggers” program is worth looking up on the internet. Search for; “Dogs for Diggers” and “Bathurst Corrective Services Dogs for Diggers”. There are some top shots of our students and the dogs. The handlers are an important part of the program which runs here for 4 weeks, then a new group of students enter the program. The handlers patiently teach the dogs over a six month time period. Matt trains Kelly, a black labrador who loves nothing better than to chase a tennis ball. Jess is trained by Troy and gets a rope between her teeth and enjoys it when Troy pulls and tussles with her. However, her all-time favourite activity is being swung around by him!! Joel has a young kelpie called Lilly, who is a challenge as her concentration span is short and she loves running ____free…. Then Breakfast is the best and most important meal of the day. Research clearly shows that the student that have breakfast perform better at school, they are more focused and smarter!! Four Year 12 hospitality students Chelsea, Anita, Mariah and Chrissie are assisting some leadership students to provide breaky in the food laboratory on Monday. This runs from 8:10am - 8:45am and has had a steady flow of students over the past three weeks. Thanks to all staff and students who give of their time to make this a success. Donation From The Australian Mobile Dental Care Clinic The Australian Mobile Dental Care clinic has donated $1000 to Kelso High to go towards a whole school welfare program. A prize draw will be held on the 24th June at 11:30 am at Kelso High in the quadrangle before the year assembly meetings. An ILAN android tablet and 2 Kelso High Campus will be offering Year 9 – 11 electric toothbrushes will be drawn for 3 lucky students the opportunity to participate in a ten students, who will have even more to smile about. week SES Cadet Program. Rachael Beck Music Theatre Workshop Rachael Beck is excited to return to Bathurst to present music theatre workshops and private tuition on 27, 28 & 29 June 2014. Rachael will help you discover the natural performer within you. The workshop is designed to assist you discover the kind of performer you are or dream to be. Rachael will concentrate on individual voice quality, movement, song analysis and delivery. She will rehearse you to perform for an audience and prepare you in audition techniques. Kelso High is lucky enough to have secured Rachael to come and work with the Year 7/8 Musical Theatre Group on Friday 27 June 2014. It is essential that all students have their Musical Theatre fees up-to-date by Monday 23 June to be eligible to participate in this amazing opportunity. The students will be workshopping their Group Project with Rachael, and then presenting their Individual Projects as well. The workshop will go for both periods 3-4 on this day, and Rachael will then be staying to work with our Vocal Group during lunch. Students need to return the attached permission note regarding their absence from normal classes during this time. ************************************************************************ Bookings through BMEC for other workshops with Rachael: Friday 27 June (afternoon – evening) – Individual private lessons. Times allocated based on numbers and therefore TBC at this stage. Cost $90 per hour.
