INTERFAITH/CIVIC CELEBRATION AND TRIBUTE IN HONOR OF THE CANONIZATION OF SAINT MARIANNE COPE, OSF November 4, 2012 www.catholichawaii.org

HONOLULU, Hawaii – A Hawaiian prayer gathering with the Hawaiian Benevolent Royal Societies and will gather to pay tribute to Saint Marianne Cope at the Interfaith Civic Celebration of her canonization on the grounds of Iolani Palace on Sunday, November 4, 2012. This event (open to the public) is co-sponsored by the Friends of Iolani Palace and the Diocese of Honolulu. Following is a schedule (subject to change) for the event. 12:00 Noon Celebration of Mass in Honor of Saint Marianne Cope Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace Presiding: Bishop Larry Silva

1:00-1:45pm Prelude Concert at Iolani Palace Saint Francis School Choir (Director: Annie Llamedo) and Saint Francis School Band (Conductor: Erin Tabali)

Master(s) of Ceremonies: Kumu Hula Coleen Aiu and Hawaiian Musicologist Aaron Mahi

1:30-2:00pm Procession from Cathedral to Iolani Palace will include:

Procession greeted by the Royal Guard of the Hawaii Air National Guard

Oli Kahea and Oli Komo Kahuna Pule Alii Ikaika Bantolino, Royal Order of Kamehameha I, and Kumu Hula Pua Mann

Reliquary transferred to the men of the Royal Order of Kamehameha I and carried by Alii Charles Tilton, and Mamo Hawaii Les Correa, Royal Order of Kamehameha I, for procession to program area.

Hawaiian Royal Societies waiting on the grounds of Iolani Palace and joining in leading the procession at the direction of Alii Sir William D. Souza, Knight of the Grand Cross Knight (KGCK) Royal Order of Kamehameha I, will be:

o Royal Order of Kamehameha I and their Na Wahine Hui O Kamehameha I; Ahahui Kaahumanu; Hale O Na Alii O Hawaii; and Daughters and Sons of Hawaiian Warrior- Mamakakaua.

o Procession to program area will also include.  Representatives from Royal Family of Hawaii, the Kawananakoa Family,  Bishop Silva and Bishops, and  Sisters of St. Francis

Program closes with everyone singing “Hawai`i Aloha”, accompanied by the Royal Hawaiian Band.

2:55pm PROCESSION TO THE THRONE ROOM (By Invitation Only)

3:10pm Rest of procession to meet relic upon exiting the throne room and will exit through Hakelelepoini Gate (mauka gate of Iolani Palace)

Alii Charles Tilton and Mamo Hawaii Les Correa of the Royal Order of Kamehameha I, Hawaii Chapter 1 will carry the reliquary of Saint Marianne Cope to the Statue of Queen Lili`uokalani.

After a brief farewell by the Hawaiian Royal Societies, the reliquary will be carried by the two men mentioned above from the Queen Liliuokalani statue to the Saint Damien of Molokai statue fronting Beretania Street, where Catholic youth will be there with their canoe to carry the reliquary back to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace.
