The Dominican Sisters and the Salesians of Don Bosco merged their Glenorchy schools in 1973 because they shared a vision of contemporary quality education as co-education. The College was established with a commitment to fostering and promoting both the charisms of the two religious Fr Elio Proietto SDB Fr Frank Bertagnolli SDB Fr John Papworth SDB congregations, and the Salesians took over ownership of the combined school. In the early years, the two young Deputy Principals were Sr Pamela Davis OP and Fr Lawrie Moate SDB. They are both still held with great affection in the hearts of our Old Scholars for their genuine love of young people, sense of fun and presence, and ability to build a community. The College is fortunate to have Sr Pam and Fr Lawrie as members of our College Advisory Council.
