The Dominican Sisters and the Salesians of Don Bosco merged their Glenorchy schools in 1973 because they shared a vision of contemporary quality education as co-education. The College was established with a commitment to fostering and promoting both the charisms of the two religious Fr Elio Proietto SDB Fr Frank Bertagnolli SDB Fr John Papworth SDB congregations, and the Salesians took over ownership of the combined school. In the early years, the two young Deputy Principals were Sr Pamela Davis OP and Fr Lawrie Moate SDB. They are both still held with great affection in the hearts of our Old Scholars for their genuine love of young people, sense of fun and presence, and ability to build a community. The College is fortunate to have Sr Pam and Fr Lawrie as members of our College Advisory Council.     Dedication 2012 Samantha Hinds passed away in March at the young age of 22. Samantha began Year 7 at Dominic College in 2002, completing Year 10 in Guzman House in 2005. Samantha progressed to Guilford Young College to complete Years 11 and 12 and found her passion for cooking. She embraced this interest with great gusto, commencing a course at Drysdale House, but was sadly cut short by her declining health. If 10 schools are eligible for a trophy they score 10- 9- 8-7-6-5- 4- 3- 2- 1 for individual events and double that score for relays. SATIS Swimming Regulations The meeting shall be conducted under the rules of FINA in conjunction with Swimming Australia Ltd (SAL) and Swimming Tasmania, unless otherwise stated. The comprehensive SATIS Swimming Regulations are located on the SATIS website www.satis.com.au/sports/swimming CARNIVAL PROTOCOLS Seating: Students and staff are to remain in school areas and seated when not competing. Students to remain seated when eating lunch. Marshalling: Please follow all directional signs to marshalling area.
