Water Operations Officer Development - October 25-26, 2013 Classroom only The scope of this course is to prepare emergency managers and leaders to operate within the National Incident Management System (NIMS) at a water operation event. This course takes incident command principles and applies them to large and small scale water rescue scenes. Students participate in incident command scenarios and make decisions. This course is ideal for Dive and Non-Dive Officers and Managers responsible for all types of water operations. Prerequisites: All students must be a member of a public safety agency and at least 18 years of age. Kongsberg Sonar - October 25-26, 2013 Your team has made the considerable financial plunge and bought a sonar; however, are you using it to itsfull potential, and more importantly, what can it really resolve at any given range? This one day program will dispel the myths and mysteries of how sonar systems work, what they can detect, and how to best deploy and apply the system for SAR operations. This is not a "sales" pitch for any particular system, manufacturer, or technology. What you take away from this course can be applied to side-scan, scanning sonar and echo sounders. When a sonar is used correctly it is an incredible asset to your team; the trick is knowing what your system can and cannot do.
