Entry Fees: The Society is offering concessionary rates in Classes 7 - 196 to exhibitors who are members of the Society. It could well be to your advantage to consider becoming a m ember. Members’ subscription rates and facilities are detailed below SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP Membership is an expression of interest in and support for the aims and objects of the Burwarton & District Agricultural Society and includes the right to attend, take part in and vote at the Annual General Meeting. Members are admitted free of charge to the annual Show and to the Members’ facilities on production of their membership badge. The Society will make no refund of membership subscriptions in the event of a Show being cancelled for whatever reason. Society membership benefits include: Free entrance to the Showground, ONE car pass for reserved forward parking in the Members’ only car park, use of Members’ Dining Pavilion and bar area, Grandstand Seating and use of Members’ high class toilet facilities. Guest membership – Members may introduce one guest each to these facilities on Show day on purchase of a Guest Badge at a cost of £10.00 (adult) or £5.00 (child) from the Information Point situated immediately outside the entrance to the Members’ bar area. Members’ forward parking will be available until 11.30 a.m. or until filled. DOUBLE MEMBERSHIP - TWO Adult Members. £38.00 if purchased before 1 May 2017. £40.00 thereafter. SINGLE MEMBERSHIP - ONE Adult Member. £24.00 if purchased before 1 May 2017. £26.00 thereafter. JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP (5-16 years) £5.00 each. DISABLED MEMBERS Limited Showground parking will be available for registered disabled members, provided prior application is made to the Show Manager. A covered viewing area will be provided adjacent to the Main Ring. A limited number of mobility scooters will be available for hire direct from Event Mobility on 01386 725391. Please book early to avoid disappointment. CLOSING DATE FOR MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS IS 15 JULY 2017. Membership applications received after this date will incur an additional £5.00 administration fee for each membership. Membership packs will be mailed out in July. THE ORGANISERS OF THIS SHOW HAVE TAKEN REASONABLE PRECAU TIONS TO ENSURE THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF EVERYONE PRESENT. FOR THESE MEASURES TO BE EFFECTIVE, EVERYONE MUST TAKE ALL REASONABLE PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID AND PREVENT ACCIDENTS OCCURRING AND MUST OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE ORGANISERS AND ALL THE OFFICIALS AND STEWARDS. DOGS PLEASE All dogs are strictly prohibited from all areas of the livestock field. NOTE In the interests of health and safety, this rule will be strictly enforced on show day. Cereals samples classes will be paid out in the Cereals Marquee. All unclaimed prize money will be sent on to the exhibitor within 28 days of the show. All cheques unbanked within statutory six month period will be treated as a donation to the Society. No Prize Money will be awarded to any competitor whose entry does not appear under the appropriate class in the catalogue (unless entered under the Substitution Scheme in the Dairy Cattle Classes). The Dairy Cattle Substitution Scheme will operate subject to DEFRA Regulations in force on Show Day VEHICLES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE LIVESTOCK LORRY/CAR PARK EITHER BEFORE OR WHILST THE GRAND PARADE ENTRY AND EXIT ARE IN PROGRESS. GOATS from 11.00 a.m. NEW THREE SHIRES CATTLE TROPHY QUALIFIER – NEW FOR 2017 Cattle exhibitors have the opportunity to collect points at three Midlands agricultural shows. The exhibitor who accumulates the greatest number of point swill win the THREE SHIRES CATTLE TROPHY and £1,000 with 2nd and 3rd receiving £350 and £150 respectively. The YOUNG FARMERS’ PERPETUAL CHALLENGE SHIELD presented by the Burwarton Show Young Farmers’ Club will be awarded to THE MEMBER OF THE SOCIETY gaining the highest number of points in Class nos. 7-196, (Cattle & Sheep). A Grand Parade of all Champion, Reserve Champion, first, second and third placed cattle and sheep will take place at an appointed time. Any exhibitor refusing to comply with this rule, or with the instructions of the Stewards, may forfeit their prize money. Heavy Horses - In Hand AFFILIATED TO THE SHIRE HORSE SOCIETY (No. 76812) CLASSES 1-6 will be run under the Rules of the Shire Horse Society Judge: MR A CALLWOOD, Knutsford WA16 8RL JUDGING OF THESE CLASSES COMMENCES AT 9.30 a.m. IN THE MAIN RING All exhibits including foals must be led by an experienced adult handler. ALL HEAVY HORSES RECEIVING PRIZES MUST JOIN IN THE PARADE The SHIRE HORSE SOCIETY’S SILVER PLATED SPOON and SPECIAL Rosette will be awarded to the BEST SHIRE MARE or FILLY in the Show, subject to the rules of the S.H.S. A PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP presented by the late DOWAGER VISCOUNTESS BOYNE, C.B.E., will be awarded to the CHAMPION exhibit in Class nos 1 - 5. The WOOD BREWERY PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP for the BEST MARE in Class 4. The TOM HIRONS PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP for the BEST FILLY FOAL in Class 5. The FROSTIE PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP presented by BRUCE MORGAN, ESQ., will be awarded to the BEST COLT FOAL in Class 5.
