The CSA3 Advisory Committee is an advisory committee only and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors and County Administrator on issues related to ambulance and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) services in the CSA3 area. Regular meetings of the Committee are held quarterly at Mercy Medical Center, Mt. Shasta. Those interested in serving as CSA3 Community Member at Large shall reside within the boundaries of County Service Area #3. I am a volunteer Firefighter / EMT with the Mount . Shasta Fire Protection District with 15 years' experience of responding to all types of fire calls and medical aids. I have worked through the ranks to the position of Captain. In addition to everyday fire related activities my responsibilities include instructing several components of our training program including EMS training. I also hold the position of Assistant Director of the Volunteer Ski Patrol at Mt Shasta Ski Park. My duties include training and evaluating new Patrollers. I am a National Ski Patrol certified instructor in Outdoor Emergency Care, and Outdoor Emergency Transportation with over 20 years experience. I am an instructional aide at the local community college program with over 12 years of experience in teaching hands on skills to EMT students. These duties include the teaching and evaluation of student skills throughout the course and assisting other proctors in doing the same. Lastly, I am the Chairman of the Mt. Shasta Community Fireworks committee responsible for all aspects of our 4th of July Fireworks show including everything from fundraising to firing the show. I supervise a crew of 20 people in the production of this event and responsible for fundraising over $25,000 each year to benefit our community.
