Evensong, also known as Evening Prayer, is part of the , which is derived from the regular services of monastic communities in the early Church. At the heart of these services was the recitation of the , the songbook of the Bible, texts that Jesus himself knew and sang. It remains the very core of the Daily Office in our day as well. Evensong will be followed by Benediction of the . This service consists of prayers and offered in praise to Our Lord as we venerate the sacred mysteries of his Body and Blood. We believe that Jesus is truly and fully present in the Sacrament that we see upon the .

A 30-minute organ recital by Austin Clark, the Church of Our Saviour’s Organist and Choirmaster, will precede the service and feature the works of Vierne, Mendelssohn and Buxtehude.
