Three candidates were pre- selected. After serious study, Mrs Mary Estelle Mahuk from Vanuatu was chosen for this position. Mary Estelle will start working as of 1 June 2008. Mary Estelle Mahuk is from Vanuatu and she is Juan E. Barrios Cup (WRT) a teacher in sport and 3-9 June 2008 physical education. She is married to John Mahuk from Papua New Guinea and they have two children—one boy and one girl. 2nd Asian Grand Prix (WRT) Mary Estelle has already 10-16 June 2008 a large Sport experience in Oceania. Below are some of her positions and experiences. She was the Sports World Cup Stage 4 Development Officer with 23-28 June 2008 Vanuatu National Olympic Committee for seven years. Field World Championships 1-6 September 2008 Page 3 FITA INFO 05/08 Women in FITA Committee IOC World Conference on Women and Sport With the topic "Sport as a vehicle for social change", the 4th IOC World Conference on Women and Sport was organized by the IOC in partnership with the Jordan Olympic Committee. It was held in Dead Sea, Jordan, on 8-10 March Paralympic Games 6-17 September 2008 2008, under the patronage of their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Our Women in FITA Coordinator Evelyn Papadopoulou (right on the photo) attended this meeting, along with other 600 delegates from 160 worldwide countries. FITA IMAP Committee Meeting in Antalya The Image Media and Archery Presentation (IMAP) Committee members met on the occasion of the World Cup Stage 3 in Antalya on Sunday 1 June 2008. More on the outcome of this meeting will be published in the next FITA INFO (end of June). International Foundation for the Development of Archery Meeting in Lausanne On 22 May 2008 the Board of the International Foundation for the Development of Archery (FIDTA) held a meeting at the FITA office in Lausanne with the participation of Dr Ugur Erdener (President), Mr Tom Dielen (Secretary), Mr Paul Paulsen (Vice President), Mr Giuseppe Cinnirella (Treasurer), Mr Jim Easton (Member), Mr Pascal Colmaire (FITA Development Director) and Ms Deqa Hussen (FITA Development Coordinator). Important decisions were taken during this meeting concerning the development projects 2008/2009: a) Olympic Games 2008 preparation of +/- 10 athletes requiring specific assistance b) Master Coaches Education awarded to COPARCO for 2008, co-funded by Olympic Solidarity c) Mediterranean camp co-funded by Justice for Athletes for 2 archers and 1 coach per Mediterranean countries with needs Page 4 FITA INFO 05/08 Further information will follow on the outcome of the above projects through the FITA INFO newsletter and/or the FITA website. The Road to the Games U.S. Olympic Archery Team Trials On Monday 5 May the National Archery Association of the United States (USA Archery) announced the final selection of the Olympic Team selected for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. I am hopeful that you and association are managing through these difficult times, with all the disruptions to competition on all levels, finances, and health. We are hopeful that there is a return to “normal” at the national level in the second half of the year in many countries and we are still confident that we will be able to hold our full WFDF 2022 World Championship event calendar. Due to the difficulties of navigating across global time zones, we will have an abbreviated schedule for the meeting and try to wrap it up in the two hours allotted, per the attached agenda. Our Annual Congress is composed of several types of discussions. Given the limited time that we have for our meeting, given that we span time zones across the entire globe, our primary focus of the meeting will be the business matters of the federation requiring voting approval of the members: approval of the proposed budget, acceptance of the financial statements, approval of the auditor, the annual risk assessment, and approval of the revised Bylaws.

Lignano - by hosting the European Masters Games - once again proved its ability to host great sport events. I would especially like to express my gratitude to all the volunteers who gave up their time to be part of the event, and without whom there would have been no Games. I also thank the hard work and dedication the Organizing committee put into the event. The European Masters Games 2011 have set a new benchmark for future host cities to meet. The standards have been raised in all aspects of the games and even surpassed the World Masters Games in terms of media awareness with an unprecedented web and TV coverage - It is an awa- reness the Masters movement needs and deserves.

    ARCHERY ASSOCIATION OF INDIA R E P O R T OF THE SECRETARY GENERAL for the period 10th March 2007 to 16th February, 2008 Dear Colleagues It is a real pleasure as Secretary General, Archery Association of India in welcoming you all to this meeting. I feel privilege to present my Report on the activities of AAI for the intervening period between the last General Council Meeting and this one. I am delighted to look back at the activities of 2007 since what a year it has been. Over the past year, we have collectively made great progress in the development of Indian Archery, and I am proud of the remarkable outcomes achieved in 2007, at both National and International level competitions. Sow.Dola Banerjee deserves to be singled out for their individual contributions to this year’s successes and I am tempted to state the year 2007 can aptly be described as the “Princess of Kolkata – Dola’s Year” in terms of achievements attained during intervening period. Learning with the average individual performance in the first half of year, our ace archer, Dola turned back in the game with great enthusiasm and mental stiffness and converted the ending of year in her favour. Her stunning victory at 4th Stage of the World Cup-Dover over China’s Ms.Zhang Juan Juan of China made a clear path to World Cup Final at Dubai. She was the best scorer among women team to bag another Bronze Medal in Team event at Dover. In World Cup Grand Finale, it was a great battle ensued between Dola Banerjee and Ms.Eun Young Choi of South Korea on a 70-meter floating platform at the Madinat Jumeirah Souk venue where she occupied the top slot on the podium winning the “Recurve Women’s World Cup Title” defeating second seeded, South Korean, Ms.
