    Activity results for 2018 Eurimages, the Council of Europe Fund for the co-production, distribution and exhibition of European cinematographic works has 39 member States, including Montenegro since 1st January 2019. The Eurimages Fund is managed by a Board of Management where each member state is represented. Catherine Trautmann has been the President of the Fund since 1 January 2017. SOME KEY FIGURES EI 2018, the total amount amount of support decisions taken by the Fund represents 21 780 557 €, broken down as follows: Share of the total Support programme amount Total amount allocated/paid allocated/paid 91.55% 19 940 344 € was allocated to producers from member States of the Fund for 78 co-productions. The Coproduction selection rate of the projects represented 29.9%. 2.97% 646 216 € was paid in the framework of the distribution support programme for marketing and publicity Distribution expenses. Exhibition support 2.55% 556 488 € was paid to cinemas to support their film programming in 2017. The Eurimages programme (support for cinemas network comprised 64 cinemas on 31 December 2018.     Associate Professor PREDRAG SOLOMUN, MSci Academy of Arts, University of Banjaluka THE IMPORTANCE OF STUDENT FILM PRODUCTION IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA The arts at universities and colleges are dedicated to the development of art education, research and creative work of students, teachers and researchers who act in accordance with the academic values. The goal is excellence and creativity in learning, creation and research, and also in artistic production. Thus, in an open and productive cooperation with the environment, we develop society, economy, arts and culture based on knowledge, creativity, innovation, sustainable development and democratic principles. The fields of music, applied and fine arts, dramatic arts, and theater and film art, as well, in the countries of the Western Balkans are concentrated and distributed to one or more of the arts academy. This paper focuses on the field of film art in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a state that 25 years ago survived a terrible war. According to its characteristics, it is often called "a small Balkan". Area of the film in this young country has become something that made BH recognizable in the region and the world, mostly thanks to the authors who have made their first creative steps at art academies as students. A serious study of film art in schools and universities began considerably after the the first film had been created. Initially, there were organized courses for cinema acting but later the scope of occupations that were studied in such schools was expanded. The first true film school in the world was founded in Russia in 1919.   • Activity Results for 2017
    Activity results for 2017 Eurimages, the Council of Europe Fund for the co-production, distribution and exhibition of European cinematographic works, has 38 member states, including Canada, which became the first non-member state of the Council of Europe to join the Fund in March 2017 as an associate member. Catherine Trautmann has been the president of the Fund since 1 January 2017. SOME KEY FIGURES In 2017, the total amount of support granted by the Fund came to €24 033 842, broken down as follows: Share of the total Support Programme amount Total amount allocated/paid assigned/paid 92.26% €22 172 536 was allocated to European producers for 101 European co-productions. 49.03% of Co-Production projects submitted were supported. 2.89% €693 801 was paid in the framework of the distribution support programme for marketing and Distribution publicity expenses. Exhibition support 2.25% €541 657 was paid to cinemas to support their film programming in 2016. The programme Eurimages/Europa Cinemas network comprised 67 theatres on 31 December 2017. €549 482 was allocated for promotional activities: Co-Production Award – Eurimages Prize 2.29% (EFA), Co-Production Development Award, Lab Project Awards, co-operation with co-production Promotion markets and festivals, FACE Award, the Odyssée-Council of Europe Prize, presence in Cannes, Berlin, Venice, etc. 0.31% €75 124 was paid to promoting gender equality in the film industry (Audentia Award for the best Gender equality female director, awareness-raising meetings, etc.). AWARDS AND NOMINATIONS FOR FILMS SUPPORTED BY EURIMAGES Films supported by the Eurimages Fund attracted around forty awards and over 90 nominations at major international film festivals in 2017, including THE SQUARE, which won the 9th Palme d’Or for a film supported by Eurimages and was a big winner at the EFA, and LOVELESS (both nominated for an Oscar).
