Announcement from The Kiski School Chief Financial Officer Position Opening The Kiski School (www.kiski.org) seeks a Chief Financial Officer beginning July 1, 2021. The CFO reports to the Head of School, serves as a member of the school’s senior leadership team, and oversees all aspects of the school’s finances and $13.5M annual budget. The CFO manages the Business Office, staffed by two other individuals. Kiski is a private, non‐profit educational organization founded in 1888 and enrolling young men from all over the world who wish to prepare themselves for college. The school’s 350‐acre campus overlooks the town of Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, located approximately 30 miles east of Pittsburgh. About 180 boys and 40 faculty and staff live on campus. Essential Responsibilities: • Administrative control and supervision of all business and financial operations of the school • Leading the financial relationship with Board of Trustees committees: Finance, Investment, and Audit • Partnering with the Head of School and the Board Finance Committee to develop the annual operating budget and structuring and maintaining a long-range financial model for the school • Administering employee insurance and benefit programs • Serving a key role in the employee and vendor contract processes • Managing relationships with banking partners and overseeing loan and lease agreements • Maintaining appropriate levels of insurance to protect school property and liability • Day-to-day management of cash-flow and working with all school departments to ensure expenses are managed efficiently and the budget is achieved • Processing the monthly faculty & administrative payroll through ADP • Preparing for the annual audits of the school’s finances and pension plans • Monitoring regulations and preparing annual report for the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program • Anticipating potential budget variances and identifying opportunities to increase revenue • Preparing financial models to inform and support leadership decision making Qualifications & Skills: • Degree in business and/or accounting required; advanced degree or CPA certification preferred • Highly effective hands-on management skills coupled with an ability to set priorities and complete projects in a timely fashion • Strong personal skills, approachable, and team-oriented • Proven sound business judgment, financial acumen, and effective analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Kiski offers a competitive salary structure commensurate with experience.
