ACKNOWLEDGEMENT “We the Greater Shepparton City Council, begin today’s meeting by acknowledging the traditional owners of the land which now comprises Greater Shepparton. We pay respect to their tribal elders, we celebrate their continuing culture, and we acknowledge the memory of their ancestors.” 2. DECLARATIONS OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST In accordance with sections 77A, 77B, 78 and 79 of the Local Government Act 1989 Councillors are required to disclose a “conflict of interest” in a decision if they would receive, or could reasonably be perceived as receiving a direct or indirect financial or non-financial benefit or detriment (other than as a voter, resident or ratepayer) from the decision. Disclosure must occur immediately before the matter is considered or discussed. Cr O’Keeffe declared a direct conflict of interest in relation to Item 10.1 – Maude Street Mall Redevelopment - Concept Options. Cr O’Keeffe is a business owner within the Maude Street Mall, Shepparton. Minutes - Ordinary Council Meeting – 18 September 2018 - 1 - 5. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS Moved by Cr Oroszvary Seconded by Cr Patterson That the minutes of the Ordinary Council meeting held 21 August 2018 as circulated, be confirmed. CARRIED UNOPPOSED. 6. PUBLIC QUESTION TIME Question One (Susan Daniel) Why were Ford Road residents NOT notified and consulted in 2015 when Council were considering reclassification of Ford road to allow B-Double trucks? Response The upgrade of Ford Road to serve as an arterial road is identified in the adopted Greater Shepparton 2030 Strategy 2006. The Greater Shepparton Freight and Land Use Strategy 2013 also included this action. Both strategies were the subject of planning scheme amendments to implement them in the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme.
