hingetown / ohio city / cleveland Opening June 2020
Church + State is a new mixed-use project in the Hingetown enclave of Ohio City. It includes an 11-story building (The State), a 6-story building (The Church), and a 10,000 s.f. public pedestrian way leading from Detroit Ave. to Church Ave.
The project offers 18,155 sq. ft. of prime retail and restaurant space on the ground floor, 158 well-appointed market rate apartments, and a large amenity and event space with views of downtown on the roof of the Church building. Retailers will have high visibility onto Detroit Ave., Church Ave., and the new pedestrian plaza, with ample outdoor patio space.
The site offers walkable connectivity to Hingetown businesses, the Gordon Square Arts District, and the W. 25th St. Market District. It benefits from a Rte. 2 freeway exit one block away on W. 28th street, two highly used RTA bus lines (the 45 & 26) on Detroit Ave., and close connectivity to the forthcoming Irishtown Bend project - a 17-acre urban park with active recreation - with an entrance at W. 25th street. The neighborhood includes the historic West Side Market, with over 1 million annual visitors and 10,000 visitors each Saturday.
The name Church + State is a playful take on the historic street names that border the project. It is at the corner of Church St. and State St., now known as W. 29th St. Project Key Stats Traffic Counts: • Project Address: • • • • Retail Space: • • • Neighborhood: • • • • •
