Old Dutch Foods Ltd. “Celebrating Hockey’s Parents and Coaches” Contest COMPLETE CONTEST RULES ELIGIBILITY 1. The Celebrating Hockey’s Parents and Coaches Contest (the “Contest”) is conducted by Old Dutch Foods Ltd., the Contest Sponsor (the “Sponsor”), and is open to residents of Canada who are over the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside, excluding the employees (and persons with whom they are domiciled) of the Sponsor, the Canadian Hockey League, and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, licensors, associates and advertising and promotional agencies, authorized distributors of Old Dutch® products, and the Contest judges (collectively, the “Group”). HOW TO ENTER 2. The Contest begins on or about March 4, 2014 and ends at 11:59 pm (MT) on April 27, 2014. For a chance to win a prize in the Contest, visit the contest area of olddutchfoods.ca (the “Website”), and, when prompted, complete the registration as instructed including entering a UPC code from a specially marked package of any Old Dutch® Potato Chips (270 g) product, available from a participating retail location (while supplies last). No purchase necessary; UPC codes from specially marked packages may be used without making a purchase. There is a limit of one (1) contest entry per person, per email address, per home address, per day. If it is discovered that an entrant has attempted to enter more than once per day by using the same or multiple email addresses, all of that individual’s entries will be void. Entrants for the Coach Academy Prize (as defined in Contest Rule #4) will have the opportunity to nominate a minor hockey team coach (including themselves if they qualify). When prompted, complete the registration as instructed. If an entrant wishes to be entered for the Coach Academy Prize, or if an entrant wishes to nominate a coach, they must submit an essay of a maximum of Two Hundred and Fifty (250) words outlining why they, or their nominated coach, should win the Coach Academy Prize. An entrant wishing to be entered only for the Bonus Prize (as defined in Contest Rule #7) must check the appropriate section and, upon successfully completing the registration, will be entered into the Bonus Prize draw without submitting an essay. ODDS 3. The odds of being selected to win the Coach Academy Prize are dependent upon the content of the essay submitted based on the criteria listed below and the number and calibre of entries received. The approximate odds of winning the Bonus Prize depend upon the total number of eligible entries received. COACH ACADEMY PRIZE SELECTION 4. On or about May 1, 2014, all entries will be compiled for review by a panel of judges made up of representatives from the Group (the “Judges”). A total of eighteen (18) entries will be selected based on the content of their essay. Decisions with respect to chosen entries by the Judges are in the absolute discretion of the Judges and are final. Judging criteria will be based on: - Clarity of language and style: 25% - Suitability for publication: 25% - Appropriateness to Hockey Coach theme: 50% Six (6) winning essays will be chosen from each of three (3) regions: - West: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the territories combined; - Central: Ontario; and - East: Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador combined. COACH ACADEMY PRIZE DESCRIPTION 5. The Coach Academy Prize consists of a trip for one (1) person to London, Ontario during the MasterCard Memorial Cup weekend, May 23 to 26, 2014. There are eighteen (18) Coach Academy Prizes to be won, comprised of six (6) from the western provinces and territories (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the territories combined), six (6) from Ontario, and six (6) from the eastern provinces (Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland combined). Coach Academy Prize winners will receive: Economy airfare for one (1); Three (3) nights’ accommodations; Souvenir package (to be determined solely by the Sponsor); and One (1) ticket to the Final game of the Memorial Cup. The approximate value of the Coach Academy Prize is Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00 CDN) (based on Iqaluit, NU departure). Winners who reside within 500km of London, Ontario will receive a Two Hundred and Fifty Dollar ($250.00 CDN) traveling allowance in lieu of airfare. The Coach Academy Prizes are subject to availability at time of booking, including hotel accommodations, and advance reservations are required. The chosen method of transportation and all components of the Coach Academy Prize will be at the sole decision of the Sponsor. Each Coach Academy Prize must be taken from May 23 to 26, 2014 and be accepted as awarded or will be forfeited in its entirety. All other costs and expenses associated with the Coach Academy Prizes, including transportation to and from the Coach Academy Prize winners’ residences and the major Canadian airport or bus depot closest to such residence, meals, gratuities, insurance, items of a personal nature, applicable taxes (including airport taxes if applicable), are the responsibility of each of the Coach Academy Prize winners. The Coach Academy Prize winners are responsible for arranging and obtaining in advance of departure all necessary travel documentation, health and other insurance as may be required. BONUS PRIZE DRAW 6. On or about May 1, 2014 (the “Draw Date”), at approximately 1:00 pm (MT), the Contest’s official computer will randomly select one (1) validly registered entry. Subject to compliance with these Contest Rules, the entry drawn will be eligible to win the Bonus Prize. Coach Academy Prize winners are eligible to win the Bonus Prize. BONUS PRIZE DESCRIPTION 7. There is one (1) Bonus Prize available to be won consisting of a 2014 Dodge Journey “Canada Value Package”, having an approximate retail value of Twenty Thousand, Seven Hundred Dollars ($20,700.00 CDN) (the “Bonus Prize”). The Bonus Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable or convertible to cash (except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion). No substitutions except at the Sponsor’s option. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute the Bonus Prize, or a component thereof, with a prize of equal or greater value, including, without limitation, but at the Sponsor’s sole discretion, a cash award. The Bonus Prize will only be awarded to the person whose full name and valid email address appears on the official Contest entry. The Bonus Prize winner is responsible for licensing, insurance and registration of the vehicle, plus all vehicle maintenance, including fuel costs. The Bonus Prize winner will be required to provide proof of insurance at time of delivery for the province or territory in which they reside. In the event that the selected vehicle is NOT available for whatever reason, the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute one of equal or greater value from similar Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram vehicle models. The Bonus Prize will be delivered to the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram dealership closest to the Bonus Prize winner’s place of residence. The Bonus Prize winner will be required to take ownership of the vehicle within twelve (12) weeks of the vehicle’s arrival at the dealership. GENERAL 8. In order to be eligible to win either the Coach Academy Prize or the Bonus Prize in the Contest, the entrant must correctly answer, without assistance or mechanical aid, a mathematical skill-testing question and otherwise comply with the Contest Rules. 9. The selected entrants will be contacted by telephone within five (5) business days of the Draw Date. If the selected entrant (a) cannot be reached by telephone within five (5) business days of the Draw Date; (b) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question (see Contest Rule #8); or (c) fails to return the properly executed release and waiver within the specified time (see Contest Rule #17), then the entrant will be disqualified and the Group reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to, in the case of the Coach Academy Prizes, select or, in the case of the Bonus Prize, randomly draw an alternate eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible entries. The Group will not be responsible for failed attempts to contact a selected participant. 10. The Group retains the right, in its absolute discretion, to make substitutions of equivalent kind or value in the event of the unavailability of any component of the Bonus Prize and/or Coach Academy Prize for any reason whatsoever. The Bonus Prize and the Coach Academy Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable without the consent, and at the sole discretion of, the Sponsor. Decisions of the Judges and the Group are final with respect to all aspects of the Contest. Entrants and/or winners assume liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participating in the Contest, or by the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded, including, but not limited to, claims and/or damages for personal injury or property damage. No member of the Group shall be responsible in any way for the use of, or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to, the Contest, any prize awarded in the Contest, or the events forming part of the Contest. 11. For residents of Quebec, any litigation respecting the conduct or administration of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec (the “Régie”) for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of the Coach Academy Prizes and/or the Bonus Prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purposes of helping the parties reach a fair settlement.
