L'italia E L'eurovision Song Contest Un Rinnovato
La musica unisce l'Europa… e non solo C'è chi la definisce "La Champions League" della musica e in fondo non sbaglia. L'Eurovision è una grande festa, ma soprattutto è un concorso in cui i Paesi d'Europa si sfidano a colpi di note. Tecnicamente, è un concorso fra televisioni, visto che ad organizzarlo è l'EBU (European Broadcasting Union), l'ente che riunisce le tv pubbliche d'Europa e del bacino del Mediterraneo. Noi italiani l'abbiamo a lungo chiamato Eurofestival, i francesi sciovinisti lo chiamano Concours Eurovision de la Chanson, l'abbreviazione per tutti è Eurovision. Oggi più che mai una rassegna globale, che vede protagonisti nel 2016 43 paesi: 42 aderenti all'ente organizzatore più l'Australia, che dell'EBU è solo membro associato, essendo fuori dall'area (l’anno scorso fu invitata dall’EBU per festeggiare i 60 anni del concorso per via dei grandi ascolti che la rassegna fa in quel paese e che quest’anno è stata nuovamente invitata dall’organizzazione). L'ideatore della rassegna fu un italiano: Sergio Pugliese, nel 1956 direttore della RAI, che ispirandosi a Sanremo volle creare una rassegna musicale europea. La propose a Marcel Bezençon, il franco-svizzero allora direttore generale del neonato consorzio eurovisione, che mise il sigillo sull'idea: ecco così nascere un concorso di musica con lo scopo nobile di promuovere la collaborazione e l'amicizia tra i popoli europei, la ricostituzione di un continente dilaniato dalla guerra attraverso lo spettacolo e la tv. E oltre a questo, molto più prosaicamente, anche sperimentare una diretta in simultanea in più Paesi e promuovere il mezzo televisivo nel vecchio continente. -

Il problema è che ci siamo accorti che, nonostante ci fossimo impegnati, i processi “burocratici” (per stamparlo e raccogliere i soldi) sarebbero stati troppo lunghi visto che (non so se l’avete notato) ma STA PER FINIRE LA SCUOLAAAAAA e proprio non volevamo rimandare il numero all’anno prossimo, anche perché ci sono delle novità importanti. Infatti il Logos che avete davanti ha un tema particolare: LE CULTURE DEL MONDO, giusto per ricordarci che (grazie al cielo) c’è qualcosa di bello fuori dalle mura dell’Agnesi. Abbiamo cercato di scrivere di cose lontane, ma che vi possano interessare o un minimo riguardare. -

”Schlagercirkus i forna Sovjet” - svensk medias framställning av Ryssland i Eurovision-sammanhang Författare: Amalia Genell Handledare: Tomas Sniegon Kandidatuppsats i Europastudier Språk-och litteraturcentrum Lunds Universitet, VT 2016 !1 Abstract Syftet med denna uppsats är att analysera bilden av Ryssland i svenska media i samband med Eurovision Song Contest, för att se hur bilden av Ryssland ändras från urvalet i hemlandet till hur den framställs i fyra svenska tidningar. Jag har genom jämförande analys studerat innehållet i svenska nyhetsartiklar från 6 Eurovision-år samt bidragen från samma år, för att försöka beskriva kommunikationsprocessen mellan de som skickar låten (regeringen) från Rysslands sida och mottagarna i de svenska tidningarna. Jag vill därigenom analysera vilken bild Ryssland vill ge av sig själv genom sina Eurovisionbidrag, samt vilken bild som framställs av dem i de svenska tidningarna, för att se likheter och skillnader mellan dessa. Det jag kommit fram till är att Rysslands nuvarande bild av sig själv och sin identitet är något vacklande, då man sedan Sovjetunionens fall kämpat med att återuppbygga sin nationella identitet dels i förhållande till sitt förflutna i form av Sovjetunionen, dels i förhållandet till sin nya position som stormakt ”mellan” två kontinenter. En annan slutsats jag dragit är att kulturella aspekter (såsom musiken och framträdandena i Eurovision Song Contest) är av större vikt än vad många kanske tror i samband med identitetsskapande. Jag är övertygad om att forskningen om samspelet mellan politik och kultur skulle kunna hjälpa till i den framtida utvecklingen för ett EU som idag, liksom Ryssland, är osäker i sin identitet som fredsunion. Lund University FKVK02 Department of Political Science Spring 2021 Peace and Conflict Studies Supervisor: Elsa Hedling Political images taking stage A narrative analysis of Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest Word Count: 9340 Maria Post 2 Abstract Ever since it was created, the Eurovision Song Contest has functioned as an arena for nation branding and nation building. The aim of this thesis is to contribute to the field of cultural diplomacy and political storytelling through studying how participation in the Eurovision Song Contest can contribute to a country’s international image. This thesis has studied how the Russian entries between the years of 2013 and 2017 were perceived and how this could contribute to the general image of Russia. Cultural diplomacy formed the basis of the theoretical framework and the theory of fantasmatic logic was used in addition. To conduct the case study, the lyrics, performances and context surrounding the entries were studied through a multimodal narrative analysis. Three main narratives were identified when studying the Russian entries, those were of Russia as a peaceful, innocent and progressive country. The main conclusion drawn from the study was that Russia was perceived positively in the contest, which could contribute to their general international image.
