28 / 31 14.0 COILED TUBING SIMULATION ANALYSIS SYSTEM Installed on the Geoplex Data Acquisition System (GDAS) is a copy of the Geoplex Windows based Coiled Tubing Job Design, Analysis and Modeling Software Suite (GTAS), including Coiled Tubing Fatigue Life Prediction Model (CTlife), Tubing Force and Stress Analysis Model (CTforce), Hydraulics Calculation Model (CThydra), and the configuration and management module of coiled strings, wells, fluids, tools strings and reels. GTAS can accurately analyze and predict the accumulative force, fatigue life consumption and pressure gradient as the coiled tubing and downhole tools either running into the hole (RIH) or being pulled out of the hole (POOH), and help the engineer to design CT job and risk assessment. Details of the components of this software suite are as follows:

14.1 COILED TUBING FATIGUE LIFE PREDICTION MODEL (CTLIFE)

CTlife, the Coiled Tubing Fatigue Life Prediction Model, is a management tool that can be used to maximize the safe use of coiled tubing strings. The software module tracks life consumption of individual coiled tubing strings and parts of the strings subject to jobs carried out in wells or in the yard, and showing life consumption per job. A database of the most common coiled tubing sizes and materials currently produced by the manufacturers is included. In addition, a database of most common corrosion factors and stress concentrations due to welds are also included. The user is also able to add new records to the supplied databases. • Model repeated bending of coiled tubing on the reel and gooseneck and the effect of coiled-tubing internal pressure on coiled-tubing life. • Model coiled-tubing life reduction due to acid corrosion and stress concentration in butt-welded sections.

• Predict the total number of strokes to failure. • Perform sensitivity analyses on coiled-tubing diameter, material, wall thickness, weld types, and fluid corrosion.

• Import data form Data Acquisition System (e.g. GDAS), or input manually. • Real-time Job or History Job.

29 / 31 14.2 TUBING FORCE AND STRESS ANALYSIS MODEL (CTFORCE)

CTforce is a Tubing Force and Stress Analysis Model written specifically for coiled tubing, used to calculate the forces along the length of a Ct string a specific depth in a well, as the string is being either run into the hole (RIH) or being pulled out of the hole (POOH). CTforce predicts the mechanical performance of the proposed CT string and BHA. Identify the locations of potential trouble spots for RIH and POOH, and generate mechanical performance curves for the operations personnel.

• Determine the forces & stresses along the length of the CT • Determine how much weight on bit can be applied • Calculate how far CT can be pushed in a horizontal well before lockup • Determine how much force can be applied to a fish • Determine the safe working limits for a string within the well

30 / 31 14.3 HYDRAULICS CALCULATION MODEL (CTHYDRA)

The hydraulics calculation model, CThydra, performs hydraulics calculations for coiled tubing, and determine the system pressure losses for liquids, gases, and multiphase fluids. Both CT and annulus flow are considered. CThydra calculate the relationship between pump pressure and fluid flow rate at the target depth.

• Calculate the pressure drop through CT and the well completion • Equivalent Circulating Density (ECD) • Surge and swab pressure • Fluid velocity in CT and annulus • Particle settling velocity • Hydraulics sensitivity analysis
