I chose to study sport as it is something I am passionate about and has always been a big part of my life. I wanted to find out new things about sport, not just getting involved in physical activity. I enjoy planning training sessions on the course. At the moment I am planning a squash coaching session. After my course, I am going to apply to university and hopefully go to The UCFB to do stadium and events management or business and media in football.

Nell Hilditch, Level 3 Sport MEET ONE OF OUR SUBJECT TUTORS

Hi, I’m Katie, one of the Sport and Public Services tutors at Kirklees College. I have worked in many different roles, including a lifeguard, football coach, gym instructor and shift supervisor. I have also worked at the University of Huddersfield and in the role of Sport Development Co- Ordinator. Both roles were pioneered though Sport England’s initiative to get more people active. I am also qualified in sports massage and manage a small clientele. Outside of work, I play football for Huddersfield Town Women in the Northern Premier League Division.
