From here we will go over tips and tricks to show you how to read more complex devices in circuit. From here we will change gears and I will introduce new innovative products and demonstrate how these work. We will speak about tools for those who want to continue down the path of more complex systems, while at the same time have little to no risk and no experience required.

Kem Dowden Kem Dowden owns a 95% Automotive only locksmith company in Austin, TX, One Call Lock and Key, with over ten years of experience. Drilled locks from my jobs are present to let you see the techniques we are teaching. To open any safe, the technician has to have an understanding of the workings of the safe and it’s proper operating sequences. Is the combo lost, lock bolts won’t retract, jammed internal boltwork, is the external relocker fired? These questions will be answered using the “blackbox theory” to allow to target the cause of the lockout, eliminating additional time and drill bits or worst, destroying the safe. With a solid understanding of how a safe is designed, you will be able to choose the technique to open and repair that safe for pure profit. Electronic locks are included to determine the cause of these lockouts and how to defeat.

Class #:F24 Price: $315 Early Bird Price: $300 $25 SHOW CREDIT Safe Servicing, Opening and Repair - Day 2 Instructor: 8 Hours / 8:00am - 5:00pm / Friday This Class will be Held at H.L. Flake Security Headquarters Ken Foo Day 2 will be a more in depth hands on continuation of the material covered the previous day. We will start with short review, making it possible for someone to take the second as a stand alone class. In addition to material covered on day 1 (listed below) we will also explore side scoping techniques and discuss dialing diagnostics. This class is for the locksmith that wants to enter the lucrative field of safe work. This class allows you to understand what you need in tools, equipment and database to open fire and B rated safes. For the experienced SafeTech that want to be prepared to open more higher end safes in the field you will be shown advanced techniques to add to your bag of tricks. You will be given the blueprint to handle a safe job with the proper tools, equipment and information by a Tier One SafeTech. Various locked out safes will be in this class and a demonstration, with some class participation is offered to open, repair and discuss techniques.

Ken Foo Ken Foo, a second generation locksmith from Honolulu, Hawaii starting in the industry at the age of 10. A fascination with safes that his Dad brought home to repair, (mostly GSA) was his playground. Fast forward to going to college on the Mainland, he worked for a California restaurant chain as a cook. Long hours and low pay motivated him to make a change of career and return to something he was familiar with, Locksmithing. Moving to Houston to work for Johnny Musovich at Red’s Safe and Lock, in Pasadena Texas, as a shop locksmith honed his skills and attracted the attention of Diebold Inc. After Johnny retired, he was offered a job as a senior service technician at Diebold. Within 4 years he was the Houston chief service tech and left in 1984 to start K&S Security Products, Inc. and became a major player in the bank equipment service sector for the next 30 years. A nationally recognized Tier One SafeTech he travels throughout the Southwestern United States, including the Great State of Texas, opening bank vaults and high security safes as well as teaching bank equipment service classes to other companies and trade organizations around the country. An active member of SAVTA (lifetime), ALOA( certified ALOA Ace instructor) and TLA, he still teaches at SAVTA/ALOA conventions and independent trade shows year round. In Texas, he is a registered CEU instructor and owns a Texas DPS PSB CEU Locksmith school in Houston.
