Actions 11 Account Management • To update your account information – change email address, update password, etc. please click on the “edit” next to logout: • You can also contact TAC CIRA at 1-800-456-5974 to update your password. • We recommend that you do not share your username and password with another employee. This is for website security. We are happy to create an additional username for any employee that needs one. Please contact CIRA for the required authorization form. 12 Filter Options • You are able to search our project manager for webpages by either searching by “Page Name” or • Searching by Status *Tip: If you have cannot find a previously listed page, search by “Deleted” 13 Actions • Available tools & actions (overview of options found in project manager) 14 Page Properties • To Edit the Page Properties, go to Actions and click on Page Properties • Edit the title of the webpage (no spaces or special characters). Press apply. 15 Secure this page • Securing a page allows you to make one of your webpages only visible to those that have a password. • You will create a user name and password and confirm it. • You have the ability to add a list of users, in csv format • Should you want to secure other pages, you can do that from this screen as well. • You with then provide the log-in information to the necessary users. 16 Secure this page • Some counties use this feature to provide Jury information to their jurors. 17 Meta Tags • Meta tags are for search engine optimization, a global tag is an identifier for the whole website (Under Options). • This can be important is another county in the United States with the same name causing your county to not be listed first in the search. 18 Edit • To edit your webpage, you have multiple options. • You can click the page name, which is hyperlinked to the editing page itself • Or click on Actions -> Edit 19 Publish this page • If your users do not have the ability to publish a webpage and that your responsibility, you can publish from the Project Manager rather than having to open each page to publish it. • Look at the Status column to determine if the page has been published, if it shows unpublished and you would like to publish it, click the Actions column -> Publish this webpage • A window will come up asking if you want to publish this page, and you will click ok. 20 Add a page • To add another webpage, go to the project manager and click on OPTIONS. • Select Add a webpage. Create a title for the new webpage (no spaces or special characters). Please note: Make sure to name your page with the county name first. Ex. archer.foreclosures, cochran.utilityreports Select “Secondary template” Press apply. 21 Copy a page • You may want to copy a page, if you are trying to utilize the format of that page to create another page or if you want to archive this page and its data. • Your copied page will have the same name as the initial page, but with “copy” at the end. To change the name, see “Page Properties”. • If you would like to add this page to your Quicklinks, please make sure this page is published prior to starting the quicklinks process. 22 Save Changes & Publish • The CMS allows for a webpage to be a work in progress by allowing you to save and then publish when you are ready for it to “go live”. *Please Note: You MUST save changes prior to publishing, previewing, or navigating to the project manager or your changes will NOT be saved. • Step 1: Save Changes • Step 2: Publish this page 23 Preview & Design Mode • Preview and Design Mode are present in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. • Preview allows you to preview your page in a live status prior to publishing your page for the public to see. • Design mode, takes you back to your editing screen, should you need to make additional changes. 24 Recovering deleted items. • If you delete a module, widget or layout, and want to recover it, look for the trash can symbol in the upper right corner • Click the trash can. • Any items that are available to be recovered will be shown across the top. • Drag and drop the item back onto the webpage (to a “drop here” area or similar place). • The content you removed will reappear. Publish the page to keep the changes. • If you delete text from a text editor widget and want to recover, use the “undo” and “redo” options in your toolbar. These are located in the upper left corner of the toolbar. The toolbar activates upon clicking into the text editor 25 Rollback Changes If you have made multiple changes to page and want to revert it to its original state: • Click on Options • Select Rollback Changes. • You will be prompted to confirm that you indeed do want to roll back all changes since the page was last published. 26 “Drop Here” If you see “Drop here!” in red text on a webpage, that lets you know you can move a widget, layout, or module to that area. In the bottom of your webpage, you will see a red strip. Using your cursor, select the item you wish to add, click/hold down and drag/drop onto the area. 27 File Manager The file manager can be used to: • Get the precise URL of a file posted on that page to make link or put it in an email • To delete an old file and upload a new one with the same name 28 Layouts You can update the way content is displayed for your page by incorporating layouts. q1 column q2 column q3 column qToggle q2 column layout 29 Toggles Each one of these is a toggle layout. 30 Toggles When creating your toggle: § Drag and drop the toggle layout button to the selected area § Click on “Add a Title” and enter your requested title and press “Apply” § Under “Drop Here” add additional layouts or widgets that you would like to expand or condense on your webpage 31 Toggles § When you drop your layout or widget, a red line will appear letting you know that you are able to add the widget to that area. § If you are creating adding a separate toggle or widget, be sure to add it below the last dashed line of the toggle/widget above. 32 Guided Practice In your practice website, please open a webpage for editing. Practice adding Layouts and Toggles to the page. Remember to “drag and drop.” 33 Widgets Text Editor: Add a content area to a webpage Image: Add an image to a part of a webpage Image Gallery: Add a gallery of images to a webpage Code Object: scrolling banner, iframes, embed YouTube player 34 Widgets: Text Editor Text editor: The text editor widget allows you to: • Add, edit, or format text on your page (ex. font, size, color, and justification) • Add hyperlinks to your page (to a document, another page within your site, to an external website or to an email address • Create a table Once a text editor is added to your page, click in the free space and the toolbar below will appear. Tip: You can toggle between the WYSIWYG mode or the HTML mode.

Changing the Main Navigation Menu 1. Log into your association’s Virtual Y Site 2. Navigate to the edit menu page by hovering over the Structure menu and clicking Menus from the submenu 3. In the menu screen, one can edit the various menus. The ones relevant to the Virtual Y is the Main Navigation 4. To edit the menu, click Edit menu button. This will bring you to the screen where you may do the following: a. Edit the name of the menu by clicking Edit and changing the Menu link title on the subsequent screen. b. Removing a menu item by selecting Delete from the Operations drop down list c. Disable the menu (without removing it) by unchecking the Enabled checkbox and clicking Save d. Reorder the menus by dragging the menu items via the plus symbol to the desired location order. Change the Footer Menu Content 1. Navigate to the footer content section of the site by hovering on the Structure Menu and clicking the Block Layout Sub Menu item. Then click the Custom Block Library Tab at the top of the page. 2.     Page | 1 Ektron CMS400 v8 – Content Editor Reference Ektron CMS400 is the content management system Northeast State Community College uses to maintain its public website, beta.northeaststate.edu. Content editing of the website is widely decentralized, to encourage individual departments to keep their own areas of the site current and updated. If you’ve been given access to edit a content area, this is a short guide to the basic functions you’ll need to know. In most areas of the system, there is also help available via any icon that looks like . Note that this version of the CMS is not browser dependent—as long as you are running a fairly current version of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome, the CMS editor should work fine. If you’ve got an older, outdated browser version, you may get an error and need to update it before editing in the CMS. LOGGING IN To log in to the CMS system from anywhere there is an internet connection, go to http://beta.northeaststate.edu/admlgn.aspx and click on the button or click the copyright icon at the bottom of the page just like we did in the old Firelogix system. A small login window will pop up that looks like this: Enter your assigned Ektron username and password, and click on ‘Login’, or just hit the Enter key. You should be forwarded to the main page you are responsible for editing. If not please send me an email and let me know. Edit Existing Content The most common thing you will want to do in the CMS is make changes to content that’s already on the website.
