Business Class Guide, Which Gives an Overview of the Business Class Product of Airlines Operating in the Austalian Market Travel Daily !IRLINE "USINESS#LASS'UIDE September 2010 Table of contents Welcome Travel Daily is proud to present our first ever Business Class Guide, which gives an overview of the business class product of airlines operating in the Austalian market. Business class is a popular product with both corporate and premium leisure travellers, and is a key driver of airline revenue and profitability. We have created this guide in response to requests from our travel agent readers over a number of years, who have repeatedly asked for a simple reference they can use to help their key clients when booking premium airfares across the globe. We have attempted to include the significant carriers focusing on the business market. Different airlines have chosen to contribute varying amounts of information, but we have aimed to include as much detail as possible about each carrier depending on the available space. We would welcome your feedback on the guide, which will now be updated on a regular basis. • An Empirical Study of Domestic Airline Industry in India Abstract
DIMENSIONS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE QUALITY - AN EMPIRICAL STUDY OF DOMESTIC AIRLINE INDUSTRY IN INDIA ABSTRACT OF THE THESIS SUBMITTED FOR THE AWARD OF THE DEGREE OF Ph. D. (BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION) BY . VIPPAN RAJ DUTTT Under the Supervision of Dr. Mohammed Naved Khan' ; Dr. S C Bansal Senior Lecturer ' , » Associate Professor Department of Business Administration Indian Institute of Management Faculty of Mgt. Studies & Research Lucknow Aligarh Muslim University, Allgarh (India) (India) (Internal Advisor) (External Advisor) DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES & RESEARCH ALIGARH MUSLIM UNIVERSITY ALIGARH (INDIA) 2008 ABSTRACT Introduction Civil Aviation represents one of the biggest industries worldwide with global airline revenues exceeding US$ 485 billion in 2007 (lATA, 2008b). The industry has moved towards liberalisation in the ownership of national carriers, capacity sharing, price controls and market access, leading to greater competition among airlines. In the de-regulated environment, the customer has many choices, if the first airline does not measure up-to the desired standards of service. Focus on service quality is the need of the hour if the airlines aspire to improve market share and further enhance financial perforniance in domestic and international markets. The airline industry has been a pioneer in the innovative use of Information Technology (IT) (Ghobrial & Trusilov, 2005). E-commerce and IT are changing the nature of the airline business. The dramatic growth of web and self-service technologies facilitate simplified passenger travel involving e-ticketing, automated check-in, common-user self-service kiosks and other passenger, services (Shon, Chen & Chang, 2003). Growth in the air traffic in recent years is due to the spread of low cost service.

  • Press Information Kit August ’19
Press Information Kit August ’19 About Virgin Atlantic Since it was founded in 1984, Virgin Atlantic Airways has become one of the world’s leading airlines serving the world’s major cities. Virgin Atlantic is the quintessential Virgin story. It has every ingredient: the small newcomer taking on the giant and complacent establishment, the people’s champion introducing better service and lower costs for passengers with a reputation for quality and innovative product development. Virgin Atlantic was developed as an offshoot of Richard Branson’s Virgin Group, which was better known at the time in the world of pop and rock music. In early 1984, Branson was contacted by an Anglo-US lawyer called Randolph Fields with a proposal for involvement in a new airline. Recognising that, like the music business, aviation was a consumer led industry, and tired of the conveyor belt attitude to passengers, Branson decided it was time for Virgin to diversify. His fellow directors thought he was mad – particularly when he announced the new airline would begin operating in just over three months. On 22 June 1984 Virgin’s inaugural flight to Newark took place, a flight filled with friends, celebrities and the media. The airline’s aim was simple: “To provide the highest quality innovative service at excellent value for money for all classes of air travellers”. Hugely popular, Virgin Atlantic has won top business, consumer and trade awards from around the world. The airline has pioneered a range of innovations setting new standards of service. Despite Virgin Atlantic’s growth the service still remains customer driven with an emphasis on value for money, quality, fun and innovation.
