DIVISION WEBINAR ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF CONTENT AREA LITERACY

To: Public Schools District Supervisors/DIC Secondary School Heads Secondary School Reading Coordinators All Others Concerned

1. As part of the continuing commitment of SDO- in providing professional development for teachers, this Office through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) shall conduct the Division Webinar on the Development of Content Area Literacy on August 23-27, 2021 via Microsoft Teams.

2. The activity aims to: a. equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitude in improving learning outcomes by supporting students in developing content area literacy; b. identify the different content area literacy strategies that could be explored in the teaching and learning processes; and c. develop a strategic instructional learning plan incorporating the different literacy strategies.

3. The participants to this Webinar are the Secondary School Reading Coordinators and the identified Junior High School teachers in English.

4. All Division Learning Facilitators and the members of the Technical Support Team are required to attend the dry run on August 20, 2021, 9:00 a.m via Google Meet.

5. Enclosed are the pool of resource persons/speakers, composition of the technical support team, and official list of participants.

6. Meals and snacks of Learning Facilitators, TWG members and Program Management Team (PMT), communication allowance of the participants, and

training supplies and materials shall be charged against the Division HRTD Funds subject to the usual government accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
