Announcing 2016 Summer On Broadway Camp Shows for Campers-Session 1 June 13-July 8 Summer On Broadway Junior Ages 8-10 Performances-Wednesday, July 6 at The Devonshire Cultural Center 2 p.m. Public Performance - Tickets: $3 for individuals & $2 for groups of 10+. 7:30 p.m. Family Performance - Free Show run time: 45-50 minutes. Pirates, Aliens, Space Travel. This play tells the story of Gabby, a kid who gets picked on during a school trip to the museum. Everything quickly changes when an alien space ship is suddenly attacked by Space Pirates. It’s only after this whirlwind space adventure that Gabby becomes comfortable in her how skin, and her classmates appreciate her for who she is. The cast size is 25+ with lots of speaking, singing and dancing for all cast members. Winner of the 2015 Children’s Music Theatre Festival in New York. Show run time: 1 hour. Based on Disney’s Oscar nominated film, this is a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor, and the fighting spirit. With hit songs and a story packed with action, humor and heart, the show brings ancient China to life with a modern sensibility. A cast of 26+ will include many wonderful characters that campers will love to dive into. Opportunities for everyone to be featured either vocally, through the script or in dance will be available. Music & lyrics by Matthew Wilder, David Zippel, Stephen Schwartz, Jeanine Tesori, & Alexa Junge. Music adapted, arranged, & additional music and lyrics by Bryan Louiselle. Book adapted & additional lyrics by Patricia Cotter. Based on the story “Fa Mulan” by Robert d. San Souci. Presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Admission is free but seating is limited. Doors open at a half hour before show time. Classic Boy-Meets-Girl story full of intrigue and comedy. The story is wrapped around one of Cole Porter’s magical scores, featuring terrific numbers like It’s De-Lovely , Friendship , I Get A Kick Out Of You , Anything Goes , You’re The Top and Blow, Gabriel, Blow . The cast is 23+ with exciting opportunities for dance, vocal solos, choral harmony and a more challenging acting experiences for the older and more experienced teen actor.
