JLS Farewell Charity Concert Submitted by: Rays of Sunshine Tuesday, 30 April 2013 ****** Embargoed until: 8am Wednesday 1st May ****** JLS are to headline The Rays of Sunshine Concert at The Royal Albert Hall on Saturday 6th July at 3pm. This will be one of the first opportunities for fans to see the group since they announced their separation last week. The concert will be the fourth JLS have headlined for Rays of Sunshine, the second year at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. Also performing will be Rays of Sunshine ambassador Olly Murs, Kimberley Walsh, Angel (Wonderful), Charlie Brown (On my Way), and dance groups Flawless and Ruff Diamond. 2,000 tickets will be given away to seriously ill children who have previously had wishes granted by the charity. JLS have been ambassadors to Rays of Sunshine (https://www.raysofsunshine.org.uk/) for five years and have given up hours of their time to brighten up the lives of seriously ill children. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 1st May from The Royal Albert Hall (http://www.royalalberthall.com/) box office 020 7589 8212. Prices start at £25. Booking fees apply except to personal visitors to the Box Office. Doors will open at 2.15pm and the show will start at 3pm. As a charity itself and arguably the world’s most famous stage, the Hall supports other charities to help achieve their charitable aims and raise considerable sums for their vital work. As well as providing a platform for 141 years for live performance of every genre at the highest level, it champions musical excellence to also ensure a legacy for future generations. The Acts: JLS Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan "JB" Gill, and Oritse Williams shot to fame in 2008 during The X Factor. Now, after achieving five number one hits and two Brit awards, they are going their separate ways. The group are currently in the studio working on their final album - Goodbye; The Greatest Hits. Goodbye; The Greatest Hits Tour will be the last time that we will perform together as a 4. But first they will headline one final Rays of Sunshine Concert which is set to be the best yet. Olly Murs Olly Murs, one of the most successful pop stars of the past decade and a proud ambassador of Rays of Sunshine. In just three years, he’s crafted three albums which have produced four No 1 singles (including the platinum-selling Dance With Me Tonight and latest no.1 smash hit Troublemaker ft. Flo Rida), and a further three Top 20 hits. First album Olly Murs (2010) has gone double-platinum and second album In Case You Didn’t Know (2011) is at almost triple-platinum sales. Along with Ed Sheeran and Example, Olly is the only recent male solo star with a sell-out headline arena tour to his name, as well as becoming a fixture on the main stage of many festivals. Centre Stage also features duets with fellow performers Louise Dearman and Ronan Keating. Charlie Brown London-based Charlie Brown is a singer, song-writer with an already sterling catalogue of collaborations. Having started his career as a writer, Charlie Brown’s soulful melodies and pop-sensibilities quickly provided him with an exciting reputation, and a highly sought-after name. In December 2012, he was asked to join Dappy on his UK tour, playing to thousands of fans nationwide. And it was these fans that helped propel Charlie to #7 in the UK Singles Chart with his debut release ‘On My Way’ in 2013. Ruff Diamond Ruff Diamond are one of the freshest, most unique Streetdance crews to burst onto the UK scene.
