5 MATTERS ARISING from the Minutes

a) 014DF Beckingham All Saints [Grade II* - 12th Century] Architect: Mr G W Smith Local Authority: Bassetlaw To undertake repairs to the Chancel wall and the East Window - AA 3/9/2018 1 To undertake urgent repairs to the east and south walls of the Chancel and the repair and refitting of the East window 2 East Window: Whilst the lead matrix of the window remains reasonably firm in situ, the removal of all the panels for structural masonry works will compromise the strength of the panels. 3 The dismantling and re-leading of the panels will allow the long-term repair of the large number of cracks thal resulted from the bomb damage in 1941 and will enable the elimination of the structural rifts in the panels. 4 To replace the existing ferrous tie-bars with new architectural brass tie-bars 5 To re-fix the wire guards with new stainless steel fixings and screws. 6 On completion of the conservation works a standard post-conservation report to be produced. The report to detail the treatments used and the extent of any interventions, a care and maintenance plan, and a photographic record of the project 7 Structural Repairs: to provide restraining rods to the east, north and south walls at upper level of the chancel as per drawings; piles designed to meet the conditions obtained in investigation of the ground conditions recently completed 8 Chancel Repairs: After an agreed period of time, possibly six months after completion of the structural works, to re-plaster the internal walls in an approved lime based plaster specification

9 After a further period of six months to assess the walls and then if in a satisfactory condition to re-decorate the plaster wall surfaces in a lime finish; rake out and re-point external cracked and open joints 10 All in accordance with Report on Structural Movement dated 1 February 2018 and schedule as per letter dated 3 January 2019 from Mr G W Smith, Church Architect and drawings & specifications P463/10, 11 & 12 dated Dec 2018 from Capstone Consulting Engineers, Buxton, Derbyshire and Site Investigation Report dated 30 November 2018 from Geo Investigate, Stokesley, Nth Yorkshire

b) 113T St John the Evangelist [Grade II - 1856] Architect: Mr P C Rogan Local Authority: Mansfield Doors to Store Room - AA 28/1/2019 1 To fit oak faced wooden doors and frame to arched entrance way of new store room at the east end of the north aisle 2 Doors and frame to be oak faced to match existing inner entrance doors to south porch 3 Fit 1 pair of oak faced FD30 doors and 1no softwood frame constructed to cover existing hooks 4 Clad with oak on a softwood frame and fit with a 5 lever mortice sash lock and lever hook handles to match existing 5 All in accordance with drawing provided by Mr Peter Rogan, Church Architect and quotation dated 17 May 2017 from Beech Wood Joinery, Mansfield, Notts

c) 114M Mansfield St Lawrence [Grade II - 1909] Architect: Mr. C J Moxon Local Authority: Mansfield Toilet & Tea Bar - IC 28/1/2019 To report on a visit by Carl Andrews, Jonathan Pickett, Revd Bronwen Gamble and Roger Howes on Monday 25th February.

d) 048BX Cropwell Bishop St Giles [Grade I - 13th Century] Architect: Mr C Andrews Local Authority: Garden of Remembrance - AA 29/1/2019 1 To set aside an additional Garden of Remembrance to the north of the church 2 Rows of spaces to run parallel with the north aisle, each approx 20" wide x 24" deep to accommodate 43 plots 3 Memorial plaques in individual spaces to be 12" square to be set slightly below ground level; plaques to be dark granite, with plain of gold inscriptive lettering as existing Garden of Remembrance 4 A buried receptacle for flowers to be located behind the main sign for the Garden of Remembrance 5 Box bushes to be planted at the outer corners of the plot as per the plan 6 A stone to be provided bearing the words "Garden of Remembrance", positioned as per the plan approx 2000 x 160mm, to match the existing area 7 Interments will be recorded on the plan and in the burial record book 8 The plan to allow space for a bench, to have a simple brass plaque with the inscription "In memory of loved ones" 9 All in accordance with plans, photograph and Statement of Significance provided

6.1 FACULTY APPLICATIONS

a) 039H Hayton St Peter [Grade I - 12th Century] Architect: Mr. C J Moxon Local Authority: Bassetlaw Stonework Repairs (List B) 28/1/2019 1 To undertake repairs to the stonework as identified in the latest Quinquennial Report 2 Nave: undertake patch pointing as specified; replace badly eroded stones as specified; 1 no ashlar stone replacement; repoint crack to south side of window; repoint around west window and to sill 3 Replace any hard-cementitious mortar with a lime mortar; minor repoint to buttress 4 Undertake a mortar repair to badly eroded stone on the string course on the west wall of the porch and 3 sq.m of pointing at low level 5 Chancel: reset bottom two stones and repoint bottom three at east end of chancel; rebed a total of 9 linear metres of ridge tiles 2

c) 024BH Bramcote St Michael & All Angels [Grade II - 1861] Architect: Mr G A Renton Local Authority: Broxtowe Lighting (List B) 1/3/2019 1 To replace the current lighting in the church centre with LEDs 2 LED replacements to be supplied to the kitchen, lounge, hall, office, toilets and link corridor 3 In the Octagon; disconnect the 4 large sodium lights and replace with three LED panels in each of the eight sides of the room; these to be lower than existing for ease of future maintenance 4 All in accordance with specification and quotation dated 12 January 2019 from Chris Towle, Electrical Services, Bramcote, Nottingham and photographs supplied

e) 055BJ Stanford-on-Soar St John the Baptist [Grade I - 13th Century] Architect: Mr M Goodwill-Hodgson Local Authority: Rushcliffe Heating Works 1/3/2019 1 To bring an existing gas supply into church, install a boiler into the north aisle tea bar area, add one new radiator to those already in church and replace the underground pipework 2 To install a gas combi boiler in the recently installed tea bar area at the west end of the north aisle, with flue to exit the west wall of the north aisle 3 To reuse existing radiators and above ground pipework from the 1931 system with the addition of one matching radiator to be sited on the nave wall just north of the font 4 To replace the underground pipework with modern materials using the existing trench; trench to be accessed by making four holes in the woodblock floor under the front and back nave pews 5 Heating system to be fitted with a programmable timer and thermostat 6 All in accordance with photos, plans and details supplied and dated 25 February 2019
