CORAT-CORET/SNIPPETS Chedet. Visit and lecture by Blair I am glad that at least two people share my views regarding Blair. One letter commenting adversely against the invitation and an article by the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia clearly condemns the invitation and the subject chosen for Blair to talk on. It is ironical that Sultan Azlan Shah who, speaking at the 14th Malaysian Law Conference on "50 years of Constitutionalism and the Rule of Law" should be present at this Blair lecture. Blair is particularly unsuitable to speak on "Rule of Law and Good Governance." This is the Prime Minister of Britain who is known "to have misled others, including the country's Parliament" and according to the VC "has lost the moral authority to preach about the rule of law and good governance." Malaysian academics should be more careful in choosing speakers to lecture to Malaysians. Blair is not welcome to universities in the UK. Blair lied to justify Britain's support for the illegal war by US against Iraq. That war has killed several hundred thousand innocent Iraqis, including women and children. Until now the killing and the destruction is going on. Rightly Blair should not even be allowed into Malaysia, unless it is to face a trial for war crimes. 355 Comments By Chris on August 12, 2008 8:36 AM Dear sir, I also totally agree with your take on Blair. He is nothing but a war criminal, equivalent to Hitler, Mussolini and their like. Carry on the good fight and you got my support, always. PEMILIHAN MAJLIS TERTINGGI UMNO Chedet.co.cc March 21, 2009 By Dr. Mahathir Mohamad 1.

The Malaysian government, recognising that the rapid development of the country has put trees at risks of being damaged and killed, thus introduced Tree Preservation Order (Act 172) in 1996. However, recently, there have been cases whereby trees that were meant to be preserved were felled down without consent of the local authorities. This situation has raised questions on the effectiveness of the tree protection legislation. This paper gives information on the progress of the TPO (Act 172) gathered through literature review and proposes improvements of the legislation. They provide oxygen, improve air quality, conserve water, preserve soil and support wildlife. Because trees are important part of every community, especially in the urban area, it is critical that trees in urban settings such as at parks, road sides and buildings are preserved (retained) and sustainably managed.
