Teaching & Performance Theater\15-0159\15-0159.doc REPORT OF GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION GROSSMONT COLLEGE THEATER COMPLEX GROSSMONT-CUYAMACA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT 1.0 INTRODUCTION The following report presents the results of our geotechnical investigation for the new Arts and Communication Complex and Teaching and Performance Theater at Grossmont College. The Theater Complex will be located in the southwest portion of the campus, as shown on the Site Location Map, Figure 1A. Several small one-story structures (Buildings 22, 22A and 22B) currently occupy this portion of the campus, as shown in Figure 1B. The general layout of the proposed Theater Complex is shown in Figure 2A. Geologic cross sections of the proposed structure are provided in Figures 2B and 2C. The approximate locations of the additional subsurface explorations completed for this investigation are shown on Exploration Plans, Figures 3A and 3B. The purpose of our investigation was to characterize the general geotechnical constraints to site development, and provide geotechnical recommendations for grading and the design of the proposed structures, pavements, underground utilities, retaining walls and associated surface improvements. The recommendations provided herein are based on our review of previous geotechnical studies at the site, our recent subsurface exploration, laboratory tests, engineering and geologic analyses, and our previous experience with similar geologic condition. 1.1 Scope of Services This report was prepared
