About Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University The Unierstiy is Managed by Mata Amritanandamayi Math under the Leadership of World Renowned Humanitarian Satguru Matha Amritananda Mayi as Chancellor. Amrita started off towards the end of 1992, as a School of Engineering in an obscure village called Ettimadai, at the foothills of Bouluvanpatty ranges of the Western Ghats in Coimbatore district of Tamilnadu, with 120 students and 133 faculty members. Today , Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University spread over five campuses, in three different states of , has a students population of around 18,000 and faculty strength of 1500, conducting over 130 UG,PG and Doctoral programmes in the field of Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, Ayurveda, Education, Arts & Science, Journalism and Social Work. . The university is accredited with A grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and placed in the “ A” category by the MHRD ministry panel. Detailed Information of the South Zone Inter University Football (Men) Tournament 2015 – 2016.

1. Venue of the tournament : The tournament will be held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amriata Nagar PO, Ettimadai, Coimbatore 641112 which is about 18 kms from Coimbatore City Railway Station and around 20 kms from Gandhipuram Central Bus terminal. The University is well connected by road and rail.

2. How to reach Coimbatore City:

By train: Coimbatore is well connected rail and road network. It is connected to almost all the major cities of South India. Trains are also available for Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Eranakulam, and Trivandrum. Local passengers train running between Coimbatore and Palghat has a stop at Ettimadai. The University is just 200metres from the Ettimadai Railway Station.

Note : A separate schedule is annexed about Passenger Train Timings towards Coimbatore and Palakkad from Ettimadai Junction.

By Air: Coimabtore has a domestic airport which connects almost all major cities of India.

Roadways: The University is just 3km drive from the NH -47 Coimbatore- Palghat Road. Local buses (BUS No 96,3G & A3) ply from Gandhipuram Bus terminus and City Railway station. Local buses (Bus No 48 and S2) ply from Bus station. Bus No A3 will reach the Campus from Gandhipuram. One can get down at Ettimadai Pirivu and take an auto to reach the Campus.

3. Reception: There will be a Reception Counter at the Main Entrance of the University Campus on 9th of December 2015 for registration and to cater to all other enquiries related to the tournament.

4.Food & Accommodation:

1. Teams will be provided with unfurnished Rooms/Halls for their stay during the days of competition. 2. The Managers/Coaches are expected to stay with their teams in view of the better control of the teams and are requested to keep good rapport with the Organizers. 3. We have very limited lodging facilities; hence the teams are requested to arrive at the venue of the tournament only a day before and to leave the venue within 24 hours of completion of their match. 4. Food will be supplied at a nominal cost of Rs.130 per day. The participants should get the Food Coupons one day in advance in the Food Counter.

5. Rules of the competitions:

1. The competition will be organized in accordance with the rule of FIFA adopted by AIU. 2. A participating team may lodge a protest on technical matters, within two hours of the completion of their match along with a protest fee of Rs. 1000/- which may be refunded to the team, in case the protest is upheld. 3. The decisions of the officials shall be final and binding. Protests if any shall be decided by the jury of Appeal formed as prescribed by the AIU and consist of the following members: 1. The Chairman 2. The Technical Committee Members 3. Chief Referee 4). The Organizing Committee reserves the right to change the venue if necessary.

6. Requirements for the tournament: a) Your University Flag should be submitted at the registration desk. b) Identification Cards of the players and four copies of the Eligibility Pro-forma duly typed and signed by the competent Authority. b) A caution deposit of Rs. 1000/- per team, which will be returned to the teams while leaving the campus. c) An Officiating Charge of Rs. 700/- per Team per Match has to be paid to the concerned officials before the start of the match. d) Players should report to the field with descent dress code well in advance. e).Photo Copies of SSLC, HSC (Degree Certificate also in case of PG) Mark Sheets should be brought for submission along with Eligibility Certificate and ID Card.

7. Return journey reservations: The teams are requested to look after the travel arrangements themselves. The return journey reservation facilities will be available at our Campus Travel Desk.

However tickets to local trains can be taken from the Ettimadai Railway station 8. Managers Meeting: There will be a South Zone Manager’s Meeting on 9th December 2015 at 5.30 p.m. at Amriteshwari Hall. 9. Transport Arrangements : Local Transport Facility from Gandhipuram and Railway Station will be arranged at a nominal cost of Rs.40 per player per trip. Advance Information regarding the travel plan should be intimated at least 2 days before through E Mail.

10. Precautions to be taken by the team members: a) It is better to bring Mosquito nets or any other form of mosquito repellants for the safety of the teams. b) Unfurnished rooms will be given as accommodations. Kindly instruct your players to bring proper beddings, Lock and Key.

11. Inaugural Function: The teams are requested to participate in the Inaugural Function on 10 th December 2015 at 11.45am along with their respective University Flags and Team.

12. Places of sightseeing around Coimbatore City: Perur Patteshwarar Temple, Murgan temple, Eachenari Ganesha temple, Esa yoga meditation (Dhyanalinga) hall at Poondi are the holy places to see.
