NSS Activities for the Academic Year 2015-2016

Units I to V

Event No.: - 1. Cleaning Work at Murugan Temple

Our college NSS (SF) Units – IV & V organized Cleaning Work at Marudhamalai Murugan Temple on 25.07.2015, Saturday. 130 NSS Volunteers, One Programme Officer and one Teaching staff participated in the cleaning work. Cleaning work started from Morning 9.30 to till 1.50 pm. Devasthanam Provided lunch for NSS Volunteers.

Event No.: - 2. Cattle Welfare Conference – 2015

Coimbatore Cattle Care Wefare Trust, Coimbatorte – 12 organized “Cattle Welfare Conference – 2015” on 26.07.2015, Sunday at Hindustan Arts And Science College. 300 NSS Volunteers and One Programme Officer participated in the Conference. Chief guest was Mr. Vishal, south Indian Actor. He raised voice to ‘Save Cattles’. The Conference held from 10.00 am. to 02.00 pm.

Event No.: - 3. Independence Day Celebrations - 2015

Our college NSS (SF) Units – IV & V to planned to celebrate 69th Independence day . They had conducted Drawing competition in entitled “Abdula Kalamin Kanavugal” on 13.08.2015, Thursday. 31 volunteers participated in the competition. The Prize winners are Mr. K. Ananth (131BT023), III B.Sc. Bio-Technology - First prize, Miss. M. Rohini (151CD016), I B.Sc. Costume Design and Fashioning – Second prize and Miss. B. Renuka (131CA225), III Computer Application – Third prize. On 15.08.2015 our college Secretary & Director Smt. C. A. Vasuki, distributed the prizes and certificates to winners on the stage.

Event No.: - 4. King Kids Orphanage Visit

Our college NSS (SF) Units – IV & V organized an Orphanage Visit. Nearly 150 students along with the programe officer visited the orphanage at Ondipudhur on 01.09.2015, Tuesday. They brought many useful things for the students in the orphanage and provided food items for them. And as per the students wish they also brought dress items and snacks for them. Our students spend their time with them till evening. We organized lot of games for the students at the orphanage and distributed prizes for the winning students.

Event No.: - 5. “Swachh Bharat” Awareness Cleaning Work

Our college NSS Units, NCC wings, YRC and sports jointly organized the cleaning work based on “Swachh Bharat” on 26.09.2015, Saturday. This was started in the evening 3.00 pm by Our college Secretary & Director Smt. C. A. Vasuki and Our Principal Dr. T. Muraleeswari.The cleaning work started from G.N.Mills to Urumandampalayam. All units jointly provides 800 students for the cleaning programe.

Event No.: - 6. Bharat Ratna A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Birthday Celebration – Awareness Rally

The Awarness Rally organized by Higher Education & Collegiate Education Dept., Govt. of Tamilnadu on behalf of the Bharat Ratna A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Birthday Celebration on 15.10.2015, Thursday. The rally started at Govt. Arts college ground, rounded through the race course road and ended up in the college ground itself. Around 2100 NSS volunteers of various colleges from had joined hands for this rally.

Event No.: - 7. Marudhamalai Murugan Temple Hundial Counting

Our college NSS (SF) Units – IV & V went to Marudhamalai Murugan Temple for hundial counting. The event was held on 27.10.2015. 84 NSS girls and Assistant professor in Tamil of our college participated in that event. They were taken to the destination in two buses at 8.30 am and started their counting at 9.30 am. It continued till 1.00 pm after that the students were provided lunch and within 2.30 pm the counting was completed.

Around 2100 NSS volunteers of various colleges from Coimbatore district had joined hands for this rally.

Our college NSS (SF) Units – IV & V organized Child Labour Abolish Awareness Programme for NSS Volunteers on 09.12.2015, Wednesday at our college conference hall. Programme was started at 03.00 p.m. The Chief Guest is Mr. D. V. VIJAYAKUMAAR, Project Director NCLP, Coimbatore. He talked about child labour abolish awareness. Our beloved Principal Dr. T. Muraleeshwari honoured the chief guest.

The Tamilnadu Government has advised to take census work in all the homes. So the Vadmadurai Panchayat Office has requested to our college NSS Volunteers to take Census about Toilet and Drainage facility in Homes. 300 NSS Volunteers are participated in the Census work at Vadamadurai Area on 19.12.2015 and 28.01.2016.

Our college NSS (SF) Units – IV & V and Coimbatore Vasan Eye & Dental Care Hospital jointly organized Free Eye & Dental Checkup Camp for our college Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff. This camp was conducted on 22.02.2016 to 23.02.2016 (Two Days) in our college Dr. M. Aruchami Goundar Auditorium. 185 Staff Members are benefitted by this camp.

Indian Election Commission, Coimbatore District Administration & NSS (SF) Units IV & V, Kongunadu Arts & Science College jointly organized Awareness Programme on “Signature Campaign about 100% Vote in Tamilnadu Legislative Assembly Election – 16

May 2016” on 15.04.2016 at Kongunadu Arts & Science College ground.

Indian Election Commition, Urumandampalayam Panchayat Office and Our college NSS, YRC & Thamizhar Tharkkappu Kalai Mandram jointly organized an Awareness Programme on “100% Vote in TamilNadu Legislative Assembly Election – 2016”. This program is held on 30.03.2016, Wednesday evening at 03:00 pm at Urumandampalayam Temple Ground. Our college students 15 members are participated in silampattam and kalari performed to create an awareness among the village people.
