Press Release nr. 2 28th April 2017 AT RALLYLEGEND 2017 AN EPOCHAL EVENT: FIFTEEN RALLY WORLD CHAMPIONS, FROM 1977 TO TODAY, PRESENT IN SAN MARINO FOR THE "COLIN MC RAE TRIBUTE". Almost the entire World Rally Hall of Fame, from birth to today, gathers for the tribute to the great Scottish driver, ten years after his death Republic of San Marino. All together, at Rallylegend next October 21st and 22nd: Walter Rohrl, Ari Vatanen, Hannu Mikkola, Stig Blomqvist, Timo Salonen, Juha Kankkunen, Miki Biasion, Didier Auriol, Tommi Makinen, Marcus Gronholm, Petter Solberg, Sebastien Loeb and Sebastien Ogier, with Sandro Munari and Markku Alen, winners of the FIA Driver Cups 1977 and 1978, that later became the World Rally Drivers since 1979. Fifteen World Rally Champions, for a total of thirty-four world drivers titles - almost all the history of the World Championship series - will gather in the Republic of San Marino - for two days World Rally Capital - for the "Colin Mc Rae Tribute", Rallylegend's tribute to the memory of the great Scottish champion, ten years after his premature and tragic disappearance. Donau, April 24, 2018 – It is one of the toughest race tracks in the FIA World Rallycross Championship (World RX): this weekend (28/29 April) the circuit in the mountains of Montalegre (Portugal) awaits the EKS Audi Sport team and the Audi S1 EKS RX quattro. The circuit, located 1,000 meters above sea level and close to the Spanish border, has a unique character – with fast corners on tarmac, a long straight and a tight and twisty gravel section featuring high curbs. “To find the best set-up compromise for this is a real challenge every time,” says Audi factory driver Mattias Ekström. In 2016 he managed this successfully even though he missed the final due to being involved in somebody else’s start line accident. “Last year, we were not the fastest in Montalegre but as team still took the win in the end. I love this track and the Portuguese spectators, who are mega enthusiastic about motorsport and rallycross.” The classic rallycross circuit attracts tens of thousands of fans every year to the remote mountain region. They turn the event into a real festival. Ekström’s new team mate Andreas Bakkerud is also a big fan of Montalegre. “It is one of my absolute favorite tracks. -

At the ninth round in Lohéac, the reigning World Champion finished third – the first podium result since his victory in Hockenheim last May. In front of 75,000 spectators, the Swede was only beaten in the final by his countryman Johan Kristoffersson and the French local matador Sébastien Loeb. In the overall standings, Ekström is third behind Kristoffersson and his team mate Petter Solberg – also like EKS in the team classification. Following heavy rain, the final race in Brittany became a mud festival featuring many overtaking moves. “Saturday sun and Sunday rather more swimming and sliding, a varied weekend,” confirmed Ekström. “I’m actually quite satisfied with my third place, but I’m a little annoyed because we weren’t so far from the front. In the dry and in the rain we were just missing a tiny bit, but we can certainly build on the performance.” In Lohéac, Ekström’s team mates Reinis Nitišs and Toomas Heikkinen once again made the semi- final races for the twelve fastest drivers, but drew the short straw at this stage. “After contact with Andreas Bakkerud my wipers stopped working, from there on I was running blind,” summarized Nitišs and added: “I’m disappointed with the result because it doesn’t show our real performance.” Heikkinen missed the final after a collision with Ken Block. -

Ford Olsbergs MSE driver Reinis Nitiss is second and Britain´s Liam Doran third inhis SDRX Citroen DS3. Doran was leading the World RX crews overnight after his heat two win but his team-mate Solberg clawed to the top of the Intermediate Classification by winning heats three and four. Round one winner Johan Kristoffersson iscurrently fourth despite losing time with two punctures in heat two and an impact with Team Peugeot-Hansen´s Davy Jeanney in today´s closing race. “It´s been a fantastic day for us with two heat wins, a track record and 16 World Championship points,“ grinned Solberg, who put on a fantastic show for the thousands of fans who watched the thrilling RX action at the famed Sachs Arena inside the F1 venue. “It didn´t get off to the best start for us yesterday but then everything has been getting better and better. I think we put on a good show for the DTM fans too, they love the rallycross action and have been saying how exciting the racing is!“ Wildcard entrant Tanner Foust is currently fifth after the American Top Gear presenter set two top five heat times, while Team Peugeot- Hansen´s Davy Jeanney is sixth in the Peugeot 208 WRX Supercar. -

23-08-2015 20:57 CEST Hard helg i Hell for Andreas Bakkerud Rallycross in Hell ble en eventyrlig suksess for arrangøren med over 19000 tilskuere over tre solfylte og flotte dager på Lånkebanen i Stjørdal. Publikum fikk oppleve tøffe fighter og heftig kjøring fra tidenes største startfelt med Supercars. For Andreas Bakkerud ble det derimot en hard helg, og lite mesterskapspoeng med hjem. – Akkurat det kan jeg skylde meg selv for, men arrangementet denne helgen har vært utrolig bra, forteller Bakkerud. Bakkerud havnet bakpå allerede før hjulene hadde rullet i gang i på Lørdagen. - Det ble en dobbel joker etter at bilen beveget seg på startplata i første omgang. Dermed ble jeg kjempende bakfra hele helgen. Vi hadde god fart på rundetidene, men klarte aldri å få det helt til totalt i heatene, forteller Bakkerud som endte som nummer 8 etter fire omganger. I semifinalen ble det virkelig action, og Andreas kom ut side om side med Petter Solberg. Det endte med en episode det ble snakket mye om i sosiale medier i ettertid: – Jeg gjorde samme manøver mot Tommy Rustad i fjerde omgang, men da uten kontakt mellom bilene. Jeg krysset linje bak Petter og prøver å gå for den luken som er der, men det blir kontakt, jeg treffer curbsen og slår i stykker mitt høyre framhjul. I ettertid er det enkelt å si at jeg burde bremset – men slik er rallycross det er tight og ting skjer raskt, forteller Bakkerud og legger til: - Det er jeg som ødelegger bilen min der ikke Petter. Bakkerud fortsatte å kjempe flere runder med bare tre hjul, men da felgen løsnet, og bremsene forsvant var det bare å parkere. -

MEDIA INFORMATION 2018 FIA World Rally Championship Round 12: RallyRACC Catalunya – Rally de España Michelin’s range and people play key role in Catalonia tyre strategies This year’s RallyRACC Catalunya turned out to be colder and wetter than the recent Wales Rally GB, which is certainly saying something! Action kicked off with a super-special in the streets of Barcelona on Thursday evening before crews returned to the service park in Salou, some 80km south of Catalonia’s capital. Spain’s round is the only mixed-surface fixture of the FIA World Rally Championship, with Friday’s leg an all-gravel affair followed by two days on asphalt on Saturday and Sunday. This specificity means teams need to change the configuration of their respective cars on Friday evening, since the suspension parts, transmission systems and settings they use are different for sealed-surfaces. To cover the weekend’s unique mix of surface and weather conditions, Michelin’s partners were able to choose between two distinct tyre ranges, namely the H5 (hard compound) and S6 (soft) versions of the MICHELIN Pilot Sport for the asphalt stages, plus the MICHELIN LTX Force H4 (hard) and MICHELIN LTX Force M6 (medium) for the day on dirt. Meanwhile, the French firm’s WRC2 competitors had a choice between the RH3 (hard) and RS (soft) versions of the MICHELIN Pilot Sport asphalt tyre, and between the MICHELIN Latitude Cross H90 (hard) and S80 (soft) for gravel. When heavy rain swept over the region on Saturday, crews also had the option to fit the MICHELIN Pilot Sport FW3, the specific tread pattern, high ‘sea-to-land’ tread block ratio and oblique lateral water-clearance grooves of which are designed to combine performance on wet roads with resistance to aquaplaning. -

News release 20.09.15 Petter’s best in Barcelona Norwegian superstar Petter Solberg celebrated victory at the maiden World RX of Barcelona at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya today (Sunday). Petter’s no stranger to winning, but it’s been a pretty lean summer in terms of time on the top step for the two-time FIA World Champion. Which is why he was so pleased to land a first victory since World RX of Great Britain at Lydden Hill in May. That and the fact he didn’t let his son Oliver down… Solberg, who is 35 points clear at the top of the World RX table with three rounds remaining this season, said: “We have fought hard for this win the whole weekend. We’ve run a lot of different set-ups on the car – we had to really work at it to catch Peugeot. All the time, the 208 was taking tenths of seconds, but eventually the brilliant PSRX engineers worked it out. “My son won a crosskart race in Sweden today; I got the message by telephone and he was joking and being quite confident and cocky in telling me I couldn’t let the family down – I actually really felt the pressure from that! “In the end, I could call him back and be quite cocky back with him. I liked that! “Everything was going quite well from the start, but in the third heat, I touched the wall on the left side – there was loads of dust in the car and I really couldn’t see so well. -

PSRX Volkswagen Sweden vill lämna Lydden i topp Lydden Hill är en speciell plats. Det var här rallycrossen föddes för 50 år sedan och 46 år senare inledde Petter Solberg sin rallycross-karriär här. Och kommande weekend säger FIA World Rallycross Championship adjö till Devil´s Elbow och Canterbury Straight. Från och med nästa år kommer Silverstone att ersätta Lydden Hill som Storbritanniens hemmabana för World RX. Segaren i förra omgången av World RX i Belgien, Johan Kristoffersson, siktar nu på ett hat-trick, en tredje seger på tre helger. Han vann även förra helgens omgång av Scandinavian Touring Car i Alastaro i Finland. - Det känns bra nu, säger Johan. De senaste två helgerna har det gått väldigt bra för mig och jag vill ta med mig den känslan till Lydden. - PSRX Volkswagen Sweden visade stor jämnhet och bra fart i Belgien och vi kommer att behöva mer av det när vi kommer till Storbritannien. Petter Solberg vann för två år sedan och förtjänade troligen att vinna efter att ha varit snabbast hela tiden förra året, så vi vet vad som krävs för att vinna på den här banan. - Det kommer det att bli en känslosam weekend på Lydden. Alla som älskar vår sport känner till platsen och att tävla där för sista gången kommer att kännas underligt. Men ingenting förändras för oss som team, vi går ut för att göra vårt bästa och ta så många poäng som möjligt - för att komma ikapp Mattias Ekström (ledare i förarmästerskapet i World RX) och för att behålla ledningen i teammästerskapet för PSRX Volkswagen Sweden.
