However, within the field of international cooperation on combating crime, agreements concluded with countries directly neighbouring with Czech Republic, which are the Federal Republic of Germany (DE), the Republic of Poland (PL), the Slovak Republic (SK) and the Republic of Austria (AT), play a key role. In terms of material scope, generally the purpose of all four police cooperation agreements with neighbouring states is to intensify cooperation on combating crime and the protection of public order. Treaties concluded with SK and PL contains a demonstrative list of types of crimes in the fight against which the contracting parties cooperate. Treaties concluded with AT and DE are lacking such list, but at the same time none of those treaties contain a provision that would limit the possibility of cooperation to specific types of crimes.
