Camp Elmore projects

The O-Shot-Caw Lodge will host the Section S 4 Conference in 2016 at Camp Elmore. There are many projects to need to be accomplished to get the camp ready for this event. There have been several work days and the Ordeals have been held there. The O-Shot-Caw Lodge Winter Ordeal is the weekend of The bridges across the water drainage area have been installed January 9-11 at Camp Elmore. Registration is open for OA plus new water lines to Site 10 (Camp Seminole) and to the members and candidates. Early registration ends on Jan. 4 and waterfront. Troop 575 Scoutmaster Hector Urzua has used his construction O-Shot-Caw Lodge 2015 dues skills to layout the placement for the drilling. Please remember that our Charter requires that all OA youth Brothers be currently registered with a Boy Scout troop or team. Registration with a pack, crew or ship is not sufficient for youth members.

Adult Brothers must be registered adults in the BSA. Any unit affiliation is acceptable.

Old Cutler Trail Hike

The 40th Old Cutler Trail Historical Hike was held on December 13th. Over 1000 youth and adults participated. It was a beautiful December day for hiking. Thanks to the staff members who helped out - Barbara Lucignani, Connie Ryan, Jorge Montes, Nelson Varona, Janet Spaulding, Perla Calas and our DE Denis Silva.

The term barefoot mailman refers to the carriers on the first U.S. The “Big-Toe” Hike of the Barefoot Mailman, is a 12-mile Mail route (1885-1892) between Palm Beach and the settlements day-hike, along portions of the historic trails walked by the around the body of water known as Lake Worth on the north, Barefoot Mailmen of the late 1800’s. It provides opportunities and Miami, Coconut Grove, and Lemon City to the south. Scout Logan Guleff wins 66th Jr. Orange Bowl Parade MasterChef Junior competition The 66th Junior Orange Bowl Parade was held on November 30th. The South Florida Council was represented by Tequesta Sixteen young chefs entered Gordon Ramsay’s MasterChef Pack 7 and Hurricane Pack 280. Junior competition, but only one left with the title of champion and a check for $100,000.

The show, a spinoff of Ramsay’s popular MasterChef, pits 8- to 13-year-olds against one another in a series of increasingly difficult cooking challenges.

Those race-the-clock challenges — including filleting Alaskan salmon, flipping pancakes and cooking the perfect sunny-side-up eggs — were no match for Logan Guleff, a 12-year-old Boy Scout from Troop 34 of the Chickasaw Council, headquartered in Memphis, Tenn.

Logan, who first made headlines in Boys’ Life magazine, won the finale and title of MasterChef Junior champion in Tuesday's
