Pietro, Lorna, and Remy especially are just stars that should be able to carry this book to the moon and back. I'll admit, I'm new to X-Factor though with "All-New" in the title, I feel like that is encouragedso maybe this has always been the formula. It just All-New X-Factor Volume 2: Change of Decay loose to me. There's a mission, sure, but it hardly has any foundation, and once it is underway, it simply spirals out of control. There's All-New X-Factor Volume 2: Change of Decay The bottom line is this book isn't living up to its potential. There's nothing that explains why half of the events are significant, they just are. From what I've read about Peter David's run on the last X-Factor volume, it was a lot more about the team. Sure, characters All-New X-Factor Volume 2: Change of Decay Lorna get a lot of time on panel, but I don't feel like I know anything about her. The only one getting that so far is Pietro, but it's almost exclusively with characters outside of the cast. His meetings with Havok are frustrating since they really just don't feel like Havok to me and then suddenly there's a scene with his daughter with what seems like it should be a All-New X-Factor Volume 2: Change of Decay moment, but it's tied to something from an entirely different series. There's just not enough here yet for anything to make an impact. Maybe it's going to be a slow burn, but I'm already impatient, which isn't a good sign. Then there are the other characters. Cypher, Danger, and Warlock I don't get. I'm still not sure how Danger went from Cyclops' team to this one and I don't know much of anything g about the other two so far. Harrison Snow is drab and another cookie cutter mundane business type who just begs not to be trusted. Linda isn't much better. I can already see her reacting to Snow's betrayal. I'll be shocked if it doesn't happen. All that said, it's decent. The story moves well, I like the dialogue, and the action works. It just isn't using its characters like it could. Then the art by DiGiandomenico is Kris Anka's does the covers and it just feels bait All-New X-Factor Volume 2: Change of Decay switch-y because Anka's is so stunning and DiGi's is less crisp or distinct or even visually appealing. It works, I just would rather have Anka. Anyway, it's worth a try, but I'm not ready to sing its praises. I'm also not totally sure I'll even get the next volume. View 1 comment. Overall a team building arc, but you don't really notice as your too busy watching the personal relationships evolve and trying to work out the intentions of Harrison Snow. Oh and there's a classic Peter David X-Factor All-New X-Factor Volume 2: Change of Decay conference. I definitely did enjoy this volume much better than the first but still felt that it was a bit below the quality level that I expect from Peter David. David's strong suit as far as I'm concerned is his characterization. Aside from Quicksilver who is given some meatier character motivation and sucheveryone seems to be falling a bit flat in that department. I believe there is only one volume left of this series. At this point, I don't think that I will miss the series all too much and that's not something I expected to say about something written by peter david. Dec 08, Andy Luke rated it liked it. There's typos the editor should have fixed, Marvel style leading to repetition, David's style wearing thin. Jared K. Fletcher still entertains with the design work, and illustrator All-New X-Factor Volume 2: Change of Decay Giandomenico as well - but some pages are a bit over-filled, the happenings are a bit ambiguous. David usually does okay and there's strong narrative heart running through this book.
