I samo učlanjenje bilo je neobično. Kada smo išli na sastanak s kardinalom Kuharićem pozvao sam i njega i učlanili smo ga ispred Katedrale I s Predsjednikom prof. dr. sc. Zvonimirom Janovićem, podpredsjednikom dr. sc. Deajanom Škanatom otišli smo kod našeg kardinala. Kardinalu je bilo drago što je i Krsto s nama, ali meni je bilo simpatično kada je Krsto odgovorio kako se formalno tek tada učlanio u Bratovštinu.“ A zapravo taj sastanak s našim kardinalom bio je posljedica emisije na HTV-u o Bokeljskim Hrvatima u kojoj su gosti bili prof. Vidmarović, predsjednik Bratovštine prof. dr. sc. Zvonimir Janović, don Branko Sbutega i ja. Od tada je prof. Vidmarović u svom radu posvećivao puno vremena i. Bokeljskim Hrvatima mada to nije zabilježeno u njegovoj biografiji na stranicama DHK-a: Đuro Vidmarović, književni kritičar, pjesnik, prevoditelj, povjesnik i diplomat, rođen je 1. travnja 1947. u Piljenicama, općina Lipovljani, Županija Sisačko-moslavačka. U Kutini završava osnovnu školu i gimnaziju, a studij povijesti i filozofije na Filozofskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Na Fakultetu za sociologiju i novinarstvo Univerziteta u Ljubljani stječe magistarsku podobnost. Od 1970. do 1990. radio kao srednjoškolski profesor. 10 ĐURO VIDMAROVIĆ Godine 1990. izabran za zastupnika u Sabor Republike Hrvatske. Na toj dužnosti ostaje dva mandata. Od 1995-1999. izvanredni i opunomoćeni veleposlanik RH u Ukrajini. Godine 1995. Predsjednik Republike dodjeljuje mu Red kneza Branimira i orden Domovinske zahvalnosti. Godine 2002. dragovoljno se povlači iz diplomacije i odlazi u mirovinu. Stanuje u Zagrebu. Od 1972. bavi se književnim radom, te proučavanjem povijesti i književne baštine hrvatskih narodnih manjina u susjednim zemljama. O tome je objavio više stotina prikaza, članaka i studija u Hrvatskoj, Sloveniji, Srbiji, Mađarskoj, Austriji i Izraelu. Prevodi s ukrajinskog, ruskog i slovenskog jezika. Stihovi su mu uvršteni u antologiju "Duša duše Hrvatske" (Mostar, 1988), Nevena Jurice i Božidara Petrača, «Hrvatske marijanske pjesme», Zdravka Kordića (Široki Brijeg, 2006.) te ukrajinsko- hrvatsku antologiju hrvatskog pjesništva "Čudo prvoga", Leonida Talalaja (Kijev, 1999). While acknowledging that Grabovac was not personally responsible for the misappropriation of public money, Ashdown nevertheless urged Grabovac to step down in order to accept moral and political responsibility for the failures of his staff to oversee the responsible use of the public funds (Chandler 2002). When Grabovac refused, Ashdown dismissed him in the name of European democratic standards, and the dismissal caused anger in Bosnia and beyond (Chandler 2002). Much of this resentment was triggered by the perceived high- handedness of the international administration that was broadly interpreting its peacemaking responsibilities under the Dayton Peace Agreement (Chandler 2002; Knaus and Martin 2003). But it is also true that, by sacking an elected official who was not legally accountable or personally involved in the corruption scandal, Paddy Ashdown shocked the Bosnia elites. As David Chandler noted, Ashdown was projecting on Bosnia “an idealized view of Western politics” (Chandler 2002). Back then and now, the Balkans generally fell short of the West’s ideal of governmental responsibility and political culture in which high officials, even if personally or legally not responsible, may still resign over ethical issues such as disgraces involving their junior officers or else potential conflicts of interest.

The HDZ’s Patriotic coalition secured 59 seats, including 3 seats representing the Croatian diaspora, while the SDP’s Croatia Grows coalition reached 56, while also being able to count on 3 seats pledged to them by a regional party, IDS. The elections also saw the rise of a strong third contender, Most Nezavisnih Lista (Bridge of Independent Lists), who secured 19 seats and could act as potential kingmakers in coalition negotiations. We asked five experts for their reactions to the result and their views on what might happen next.     Međunarodne studije, god. 13, br. 3-4, 2013, str. 55-79 55 Pregledni znanstveni članak UDK: 327(497.5)”1991/2000” Evaluating Tuđman’s Foreign Policy (Un)successful Protection of National Interest; From Defender to Despot1 Bojana Klepač Pogrmilović* Summary The majority of Croatian foreign policy creators and certain scholars evaluate Croatian foreign policy as very successful, especially when compared to do- mestic policy. Furthermore, the first Croatian president Franjo Tuđman – the main creator of Croatian foreign policy during the 1991-2000 period – is of- ten invoked as a supreme defender of Croatian national interests. This article challenges such positions by setting up a normative framework, which states that Croatian national interest was (is) to become a functional Europeanized parliamentary democracy, based on values, norms and principles formulated in acquis communautaire. Through simplified normativism, the article evalu- ates four main points: “respect for sovereignty”, “peace”, “market economy” and “rule of law” in which the Croatian foreign policy, whose main creator was Franjo Tuđman, largely contributed to the alienation of Croatia from its vital national interest. The final part of the article evaluates Tuđman’s thought that focuses mainly on the position of small peoples within multinational en- tities, democracy, Croatia and the EU etc. One of the main reasons of a failed democratic transition is found in Tuđman’s perception that Croatia became a democratic state just by formally adopting a democratic Constitution. In particular, I am appealing against the charge of insult by Slobodan Vugrinec, the former mayor of Motovun. I am also appealing against Croatian courts that help the likes of Vugrinec in political repression against those who criticize their policies. Libel and insult cases have been one of the favorite weapons of politicians, and they have been victorious all too often. In 2008 and 2009, Vugrinec took me to court first for libel and then for insult. In 2009 he also arranged yet another libel case against me by the Municipality of Motovun. All this was done in preparation for the municipal elections in 2009. Vugrinec and the Motovun Municipality lost the libel cases, but he won the insult case at the Municipal Court in Pazin in 2010. All of us appealed to the Regional Court in Pula, but the original decision was upheld in 2011.

Oktober 2016, wurde Andrej Plenković und das von ihm vorgeschlagene Kabinett einer Zwei-Parteien-Koalitionsregierung von HDZ (Kroatische Demokratische Partei) und MOST (die Brücke) vom Kroatischen Parlament, dem Sabor, mit 91 Stimmen der 139 anwesenden Parlamentarier bei 45 Gegenstimmen und drei Enthaltungen im neuen Amt bestätigt. Vorausgegangen waren der Regierungsbildung vorgezogene Parlamentswahlen am 11.
