Don't Give Empty Support to Najib, Urges Tajuddin Malaysiakini.Com Don’t give empty support to Najib, urges Tajuddin MalaysiaKini.com Aug 9, 2015 Umno supreme council member Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has hit out at some party leaders and members for being sychophants and giving empty support to president Najib Abdul Razak. Such an attitude, he said, should be erased and instead, they should work at gaining public support for the party in the next general election to ensure that Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) remained in power. “What is happening now is that many express their support for the prime minister, but it’s empty support. “If we cannot give (to BN) the parliamentary and state seats, we don’t need to talk about support,” he said in his speech when opening the Indera Mahkota Umno division Youth delegates’ meeting in Kuantan late last night. Tajuddin, who is also Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Deputy Minister, said currently, the commitment of most Umno leaders and members was half-hearted and they were not willing to face the challenges. “The challenges faced by the party now are tougher and worse than in 2013. If we observe, not many people speak well of the government now. “It shows we are facing problems which, if not tackled fast, the party’s performance in the next general election will decline further,” he said at the meeting which ended early today. In this regard, Tajuddin said Umno members needed to change and return to the party’s original struggle of serving the people, religion and country. The attitude of placing personal interest above the party’s should be cast aside but to focus on the people’s needs instead, he added. - Bernama Copyright © 1999-2012 Mkini Dotcom Sdn. • Najib Wants More Premises Set up for Selling Products Directly to Consumers Bernama April 3, 2015
Najib Wants More Premises Set Up For Selling Products Directly To Consumers Bernama April 3, 2015 KUANTAN, April 3 (Bernama) -- Prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak wants more premises providing opportunities to farmers and breeders to sell their products directly to the consumers to be set up in the country. He said this would enable the producers to earn more profit while the consumers could get fresh agro-based products at a cheaper price. He said the 1Malaysia Agrobazaar Rakyat concept, introduced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry at Indera Mahkota, which offers fresh products such as vegetables, fruits, chicken, meat and fish which are cheaper by as much as 20 per cent compared to the market price, was the best model for this initiative. "The 1Malaysia Agrobaazar Rakyat concept is the best platform that brings together the producers and consumers, that brings the farmers, fishermen and breeders together to the housewives and general public who want an outlet that offers fresh products at a minimum price," he said. He said this when opening the 1Malaysia Agrobazaar Rakyat, at the Pahang State Farmers Organisation (Pasfa), here today which was also attended by Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. The event was also attended by its deputy minister, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, chairman of the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) Tan Sri Badruddin Amiruldin and chairman of the Board of the National Farmers Organisation (Nafas) Datuk Seri Saipolbahri Suib. The Agrobazaar, which was created under the concept of the mini market, was to enable the farmers, breeders and fishermen to turn the outlet as a medium to merket their products without using the middlemen.

  • Are Najib Et Al Listening to the Voice of Conscience? Malaysiakini.Com July 7, 2015 by Stephen Ng
Are Najib et al listening to the voice of conscience? MalaysiaKini.com July 7, 2015 By Stephen Ng COMMENT Amidst strong allegations that some RM2.6 billion had been funnelled into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s personal accounts in AmPrivate Bank, one thing is clearly missing. It is the God-given voice of conscience. The only person who has come close to having some conscience is Najib himself, who denied that he had “stolen” the people’s money. This is the guilty conscience at work. We say that the voice of conscience has pricked the culprit that he has to say something in order to silence his own guilty conscience. For someone accused of taking the money, one can either hear the still voice of conscience and immediately admit that he had indeed stolen the money, or he will categorically deny it. After all, no thief - even one caught red handed - would admit that he has stolen his client’s money, would he? In any case, the voice of conscience will not be silenced at all. With time, it will grow louder, and even stronger, no matter how one tries to suppress it. Najib’s denial shows that at least the voice of conscience is doing its work. Compared to someone who is simply indifferent and continues on with life as if nothing has happened, at least Najib has responded to his own voice of conscience. Strangely, some have remained absolutely silent. One would expect that at this crucial juncture in Najib’s life, Rosmah Mansor would have spoken up.

  • A Study on Interruptions by the Chairperson in the Dewan Rakyat
ACCOUNTABILITY IN THE PARLIAMENT OF MALAYSIA: A STUDY ON INTERRUPTIONS BY THE CHAIRPERSON IN THE DEWAN RAKYAT Inaugural-Dissertation zur Erlangung der Doktorwürde der Philosophischen Fakultät der Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Bonn vorgelegt von Nor Azura binti A Rahman aus Johor, Malaysia Bonn 2021 Gedruckt mit der Genehmigung der Philosophischen Fakultät der Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn Zusammensetzung der Prüfungskommission: Prof. Dr. Stephan Conermann (Vorsitzende/Vorsitzender) Prof. Dr. Christoph Antweiler (Betreuerin/Betreuer und Gutachterin/Gutachter) Prof. Dr. Claudia Derichs (Gutachterin/Gutachter) Tag der mündlichen Prüfung: 26 November 2020 i ABSTRACT The election of the chairman of the House of Representatives, a chamber of the Malaysian parliament, has always been determined by the ruling party. The centralization of executive power has also absorbed the function of the chairman, so that the chairman acts partisanly in parliamentary debates. Also, the chairman has developed into an institution that carries out agenda-setting within the framework of the parliament. This raises the conceptual question of whether legislation in Malaysia is still performed independently by the parliament. The observed patterns require an attempt to re-conceptualize the roles as well as the assigned meaning of various expressions of parliamentary routine, including those that are unwritten and informal, for instance those which can also be termed “subjective forms of rule” at one's own discretion. In my doctoral thesis, I apply an interdisciplinary analytical framework that relates to accountability studies, as well as micro- sociological direct interaction, the interpretations of procedural interactions in conversation, as well as studies of political discretion in parliamentary operations. My main research question asks how the Speaker of Parliament fulfils his responsibilities by disrupting ongoing parliamentary debates.

  • C Rabu, Mac 27 2019 MENTERI Kewangan, Lim Guan Eng Ketika

  • Muhyiddin Must Have Trust and Confidence in Prime Minister's Leadership Bernama Oct 26, 2015
Muhyiddin Must Have Trust And Confidence In Prime Minister's Leadership Bernama Oct 26, 2015 KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 (Bernama) -- UMNO deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin must have trust and confidence in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's leadership as each leader had his own style of leadership, said a party Supreme Council member. Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said the former deputy prime minister should also not dig up previous events about his support for Najib. "Those of us who are at the bottom, regardless of whether we hold a post, an ordinary party member or supporter, should adapt ourselves to the leader. We are the followers, the leader cannot be following the followers. "As members (of UMNO), we must have confidence and trust in our leaders. If we can't do that, then we should withdraw so that there are no problems between us and the leader," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby, here, Monday. Tajuddin, who is also Pasir Salak UMNO division chief, was commenting on the claims made by Muhyiddin in Johor Baharu on Saturday that he was the choice of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to be prime minister, but he preferred to remain loyal to Najib and became only the deputy. He said if he was dissatisfied, Muhyiddin should discuss within the party, and not do so publicly. Asked if UMNO should take action against Muhyiddin, Tajuddin said action could be taken in the form of reminders and advice to reflect the party's respect for him. "I humbly request him is to discuss the differences within the party, otherwise, it would not help the party but only benefit the enemy.

  • TAJUDDIN ABDUL RAHMAN RETURNS to UMNO (Bernama 13
13 FEB 1997 Umno-Tajuddin TAJUDDIN ABDUL RAHMAN RETURNS TO UMNO By: Sobrey Jaafar KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- Former Umno Youth exco member Tajuddin Abdul Rahman who was sacked from Umno in June 1995 has been accepted back by the party. Tajuddin, 49, who was also the former Pasir Salak Umno Youth divisional chief and former Perak Umno Youth vice chief, was expelled by the Umno Supreme Council for indulging in money politics during the divisional election in 1995. Contacted by telephone at his residence here tonight, Tajuddin said he received a letter today informing him that his membership had been restored. The letter dated Dec 25 was signed by Umno secretary-general Datuk Sabbaruddin Chik, he said. "The Umno Supreme Council in fact had agreed to readmit me into the party on Oct 9, 1996, and the delay in sending me the letter could be due to the Umno leadership elections and the appointment of a new secretary-general at the time," he said. Expressing happiness over his readmission, Tajuddin said: "Today is the most meaningful day in my political carrier after waiting everyday for more than a year and a half to return to the Umno fold. "I am thankful to God and to Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad and all members of the Umno Supreme Council for theier willingness to accept me back into Umno," he said. "I promise to be a loyal member of Umno and am prepared to cooperate and serve to the best of ability in pursuing the party's struggles," he added.
