After a 35-year career of teaching the martial art, O’Kelly has retired. A Saranac Lake resident, O’Kelly opened the Northeast Taekwondo school in this village in Sept. 2016. On Saturday, he performed his final duty as the head of the school, pro - moting 19 local students to black belts during an outdoor ceremony held on the North Country Commu - nity College soccer field. O’Kelly said all 19 who were promoted were original students of the Saranac Lake-based school when it opened nearly four years ago, and the youngest new black belt earner was 9-year-old Cole Davide. The ceremony was held on a chilly, damp day with plenty of space between the students, who all wore matching black facemasks that included an image of a martial artist. The day began with testing and ended with the handing out of black belts and certificates. The launch of program comes at a very important juncture for Saudi Arabia as the economy is in a positive transition. The program aims to enhance the competitiveness, resilience and capacities of the private sector companies both regionally and globally. It will also act as a stimulus for companies who are set to receive support to recover from the impact of the pandemic. This massive and visionary investment program will help the public and private sector to work in cohesion towards achieving the objectives of Vision 2030. About Shareek (‘Partner’) Program: Shareek is a collaborative program designed to strengthen the partnership with the private sector. The private sector Shareek program is part of the investment program totalling SAR 12 trillion into the Saudi economy by 2030. This includes SAR 3 trillion investment from Public Investment Fund (PIF), and SAR 4 trillion under the national investment strategy. The above investment plan is independent of the Saudi government expenditure that is slated to reach SAR 10 trillion and the private consumer spending that is expected to stand at SAR 5 trillion by 2030. Therefore, of the SAR 27 trillion riyals spending and investment program over the next ten years, 90% will be provided by the Saudi government, funds and companies. -

Equality in Saudi Arabia Workforce Dr. Amal Hatem Galloway PhD in human resources management, Curtin University, Western Australia E-mail: [email protected] Abstract The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has adopted a long-term strategy for the development of Saudi human resources and the creation of a national workforce to promote the development of the national economy. The Kingdom's interest in human resources development included both men and women, which opened the opportunity for women to join the Saudi workforce without interfering with religion and in the context of customs and traditions. Companies in the public or private sectors must comply with legislative requirements that ensure both diversity and equality of their workforce. There are still administrative, regulatory, and social obstacles that prevent women from joining the labor market. Saudi women, who account for 51 percent of the total population, account for 16 percent of the total workforce, mainly in the education and medical sectors, as the educational options available to Saudi women are limited to specific areas. Equality in the Saudi workforce has a long way to go, but there are encouraging signs that the issue is now gaining momentum in the Kingdom, in this paper the author is highlighting the challenges faced by Saudi Arabia women and the equality situation nowadays.
